There is actually already one instance where Duty Roulettes can factor in different sized parties (there used to be two before Cape Westwind got moved to Trial Roulette), but nobody knows because few people actually do the level 40 guildhests. The final guildhest (Solemn Trinity) is an 8-man whereas the rest are all 4-man. So the groundwork is already in place, all SE would need to do is implement dungeons tuned for different sized parties - which I doubt is high on their priority list.

Don't toy with my emotions like that!
*ahem*
It might alleviate queues a bit, but not by much, I think. It would require big changes to parties (no more 8-man parties, for one), though 24-man content would still be possible, just requiring 4 parties instead of 3.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I think they should change it to 5 man when they come out with a class that does support magic only.
Not healing and dps magic but magic that only supports party till then I think it should stay 4 man till that happens.

Oh right...that one...I guess my point is defeated then.There is actually already one instance where Duty Roulettes can factor in different sized parties (there used to be two before Cape Westwind got moved to Trial Roulette), but nobody knows because few people actually do the level 40 guildhests. Though does that mean that roulette is picked right when you queue?![]()
There will always be to many dps players and adding one more dps wont change this. I rather they add a support role and make that the 5th one.

It'd help in a small way, removing 1 more DPS from the queue every time a dungeon pops means the line move quicker. A lot of help? maybe not.
Though I agree on the support side.

Does it matter?
The game series originally started with a 4 man party system, then eventually dropped to 3,
Btw, FFimensions has 5... 6 man parties (not sure on the 6 man atm)
Yes!.
Unless the old dungeons and raids are reworked for such a class, then the support class will have no place in them.
