I main a Bard it's a thankless job end of.

Despite being the easiest job, most bards are still bad. Low dps because they macro everything, never sing songs or sing when it benefits no one.

But it's not a bard's responsibilty to carry bad healers that can't manange their mp or bad melee that don't use invogriate efficently. We can help when things get sticky but we can't carry. Also ballad isn't enough to use holy nonstop. It doesn't regen your mp fast enough for that.

This. Unless you have Mage's Ballad or Paeon up full time when it's completely unnecessary, I'm sure as hell not going to give you grief and more often than not, most parties won't either. The VAST majority of BRDs out there don't sing at all. The fact that you put up a song at all already makes you better than them.

Happened in my BCoB:T4. BLM asks for Foe's, one of the two Bards plays Ballad. Keep Ballad on until the end of the encounter. That's grounds for facepalming.

I wouldn't go that far. It irks me to see a Bard keep Ballad up when nobody is missing MP. Although I really am nitpicking here.

The only time a bard should play a song is:

1. A healer is running out of MP
2. A healer was resurrected and needs MP.
3. Someone asks.

Follow these 3 things to lessen the number of anger you get directed towards you.

EDIT: This excludes certain runs like Turn 4 where it's just common knowledge..

DRGs and MNKs are more time in the ground than doing damage.
SMN always summons the wrong pet.
WHM always wants to DPS race the BLMs.
PLD never has shield up.
WAR always run out of TP after 2 overpower.
BLM is a BLM and thats bad enough.
