There are times you want to use the class instead of the job. The reason why I say that is because of the fact that you can use cross class abilities that might grant you access to (de)buffs your job does not have access too at that particular level.

For instance, stoneskin.

There's almost never any time you want to use classes once you can equip your Job as the cross class abilities doesn't outwieght the gains you get from your stone - That includes stoneskin as unless it's from a WHM, it's gimped.

Wow people are saying good things about the community from XI, you must have been on magical servers, because the one I was on, Shiva, was horrible, there the only people ever willing to help anyone with anything were only willing to for 100k gil per hour.

I've played XI since it's Japanese beta and I can promise you I've never ran into anyone who wouldn't help unless you paid them 100k, you've confused FFXIV with FFXI - Where people pay to get carried through content or did you magically forget primal and t5 selling? I played on Fairy, Shiva, Kujata, Titan, Phoenix, Lakshimi and (as of now) Asura - Never had to pay for help. People did pay for Fellcleave parties in Abyssea though.

This is completely untrue. I remember plenty of people who charged just to raise players who died in leveling zones like the dunes. There are jerks in every community. Cait Sith was relatively friendly, but there were still plenty of bad apples who wound up on pretty much everyone's b-list once word got out about them.

True, it would be gimped, but keep in mind that Stoneskin is a level 34 spell and it's Graniteskin Trait is level 36. So, when doing a Dungeon like Haukke Manor, you synced down to a point where the White Mage can't use Stoneskin, but other classes/jobs can if they "sub" it on the right slot. Yes, the job stone grants certain stat point increases that would make it a preferred choice, even at the lower levels. However, the stat increase at that level will not make that much of a difference and using other damage preventing skills from other classes can still prove to be useful.

I'm not saying it's the best solution, but the OP would've managed fine in Qairn without using the Warrior Stone and using skills from other classes like Gladiator, Conjurer and Pugilist.
