No its not, In fact I'm sure a lot of the people would be satisfied of having new item levels challenges and armors, which would have made content like Twintania already easier, just like how people farm Hard mode primals now. The problem is that the content is being tweaked by SE to be easier encounters. It feeds into the notion the FFXIV is not just based for casuals(DoW casuals at that) only, but that its designed to carry and handhold, that it prefer and reward people and FCs that sell carrys for players to buy or wait their way to victory.

It's not a notion- it is the intended game design.

This is a casual game. Anyone who refuses to accept that or wants to continue pretending they are hardcore in a casual game is going to continually be disappointed or embarrassed.

They have repeatedly made comments about the design and release patterns to cater to casual players.Hardcore players in this game are like hardcore players in Hello Kitty- They are just people that spend a bunch of time playing an easy game.

If people are mad that it is trivializing their "accomplishments" ... it's because it's not an accomplishment. Gear in this game is throwaway gear. It's not meant to last for very long, so it's not terribly hard to get. It's mainly about RNG and lockouts. If you want accomplishment or to be a hard core gamer- play a hard core game.

I don't think all of the decisions can be thrown under the notion that this is a casual game, but I can understand those who look at how parties are conducted and don't see doing this over and over for each patch.

Apparently the content is throwaway too. So what's really left of the game?

Not every patch, but pretty frequently... this was talked about in interviews with Yoshi-P when the game first launched (maybe even before)... it was the intended pattern from the start.

Yes it is... throw away... then recycled (see primals). As far as what's left of the game... well that depends on if their development can keep up with this model... which I don't think it can. So the relevant content is going to be fairly small at any given time, and will be farmed by players until they are bored...at which point they will either leave... or just hang around until the next small content update.... cycle continues forever. (It's really not a good or sustainable model without really fast development).
