You are forgetting that SE has stated numerous times they can not let a numbered Final Fantasy game fail and will spend whatever they need to redeem it.

that would assume the game hasn't already reached the tipping point between success and failure in SE's eyes. a couple hundred k players may not be good enough to turn around the amount spent on this game and if they lose any significant amount of those currently playing they may call it a failure.

Read my post. They need to lose well over 50% of their current players for it to be deemed as a failure. This game's peak so far is higher than 11's peak. Which is their most profitable FF game to date.

yeah that's why I have six months pre paid.! but singing in lately i CAN actually see the MOST populated areas at peak times. with as few as 7-8 people in the entire zone during off times. the game is barely a month old and over the last two weeks the off times went from well populated to near empty. the peak hours may still boast numbers but there has been a huge decline in numbers. you don't want to see it tough luck to you then reality bites.

Wrong. 2,000,000 characters. Characters =/= Accounts. They stated in 2008 they had 500,000 SUBSCRIBERS. 2009 they stated they had 2,000,000 active characters. That can also mean someone logging in. Playing one toon. Then logging on another.
