Not showing servers isnt going to help much. Just go to lodestone and type in your name. Will show any character with the same name and what server they are on...

Absolutely. Wonder why this isn't a more popular opinion. Oh wait -- its because the people who don't like this announcement only care about griefing and abuse, they really don't care about competition.Removing character names makes it as competitive as possible. You're not focused on killing the guy with the dumb name, or taking down the guy from the RP server, or avoiding the internet-famous streamer; you've just got 8 opponents in front of you to take down efficiently.

True, true. I should probably take a break from reading these forums and making any posts, heh.

You're personal friends with some developers, huh?
Why even make these completely worthless ad hominem comments?
Horrible decision on the names. Rivalries always made me enjoy pvp more (even if I was on the losing side). This just make it boring. Making a name for yourself is fun. Seriously, if your ego can't handle losing in pvp, maybe you should stick to pve.
Still doesn't matter, it's like saying hey everyone in PvE we are going to name you all "Player" that way when/if you suck, your name will not be displayed, therefore you can't be harassed. Are you Kidding me? The main reason I even tried this game out, was cause I was hoping for some good PvP. Not going to be telling my friends "Hey we are killing the Fresh Meat on the left first" or "hey focus on the X marked fresh meat". If you rape in PvP your name should be known, just as much as if you own it up in PvE, your name or guild name/FC name/LS name/ whatever the hell they want to call it will be known.
