Healing Titan as a Scholar, need tips

So, I'm running HM Titan now, in hopes of earning my relic (and eventually relic+1) myself, instead of caving like half my server and buying a run from one of the Coil groups.

I did a few Titan runs tonight, and after our first set of runs going with 2x healers, we attempted the 3x healer approach recommended in a commonly viewed youtube video. Our main problem is probably still that one of our healers dies arbitrarily before or during heart phase, which leaves me frantically healing. And I still don't feel like I'm making much of an impact healing this fight, certainly not compared to white mages who can medica to top off people after stomps within two casts (compared to succor, which while cute isn't nearly as potent).

Are there any recommendations for what I really ought to be doing as a Scholar to help heal through this fight in a way that makes an impact? I understand that my main purpose in a 3 healer setup is to dps during heart phase via Clerics Stance, but I feel like if one of my partner healers dies before then, the other one is always entombed, leaving me trying to solo heal through titan with varying degrees of success.

I'm in nearly full DL gear, with no luck on weapon drops since I bought my GC weapon, and no luck on rings from AK.

    - get swiftcast in case another healer kicks the bucket. when he dies, try going to the edge, pick your moment, res him and move away from that area, but not too far away to heal him when he gets up
    - learn the incoming AoE dmg sequences so that you pre-shield your party
    - not much you can do if the other 1-2 WHM die and you don`t have swiftcast (IMO)

I have swiftcast. And I'm pretty good about getting Succor off either just before or as the first stomp hits to both top everyone back off and get the shield up on them. I just feel like compared to a WHM, my healing numbers are really low, despite the fact that I'm as geared or better geared than the White Mages in most of my groups.

The first thing is memorize the rotations, there's other sources here that have shown it - check the Dungeon forum. You have to be able to consistently precast succor so that the entire team benefits from the shield as the stomps begin. If timed right, you basically just cast Succor back-to-back.

No one should die before the Heart phase. If they do, I'd just wipe the group and start over. It becomes progressively more difficult to keep people alive if they are saddled with res sickness during the Heart phase. Maybe swiftcast/res ONE person, if you trust the group. If it is a 3 healer PUG - just forget about it.

Do not bring 3 healers, its ridiculous overkill and I think it makes Titan harder. While Titan isn't technically a DPS check (other than Heart), beating him fast is really helpful. The fewer rotations you have to deal with means you have less opportunity for one person to screw up. Go with 1 tank, 2 healers, full DPS (one single target melee / one bard, min).

Also, Aldo your tank prior to Mountain Buster during the last phase.

Every time I have beaten titan it has been with 2 healers and 5 dps. For the most part, so long as you yourself are not getting hit there is not much you can do. Take it from a DPS, if people keep eating AoEs and taking damage for no reason just leave them on the ground (after heart phase of course). Also do be careful, the more rotations titan does the more stomps he will do, and the number can stack

Preshielding stomps and dropping sacred soil is very helpful however the best thing you can do is go with 7 other people who no the fight. The only damage that should be taking is by the tank and stomps. If people know the fight its actually very easy to heal it. That and make sure they're geared for the fight.

Heya! I just beat him for the first time last night in a PUG. Here are some general tips.

    1. Turn on LEGACY movement. The default option makes you run the direction the character is facing. Legacy lets you run in the direction your camera is facing. It makes a big difference after casting Rouse or a heal on someone behind you. You don't fumble around trying to move the direction you intended.

    2. Print out the ability rotation. Keep it by your desk. My PUG group really started getting it after the heart phase when I started calling out each move in voice chat. Certain moves like plumes are MUCH easier to avoid if you know they're coming. I would callout Mountain Buster Heal Tank --> Stomp AoE Heals *keep moving* plumes are next!, etc.

    3. Cast a spell as soon as you get out of an AoE. The server updates your location periodically but casting a spell forces it to update immediatly.

I don't know where this comes from, but I'm fairly sure that it's not true.

This comes from Everquest, and it's not true at all in FFXIV.
