Why? It's just a harmless "goof off" made for the players.
What's so wrong?
I mean, I love immersion and a consistent feel in the setting, but that doesn't mean I won't go watch Commander Sheppard goofing off in Garry's Mod. :P
THEY HAVE THIS?!?! I mean, I remember reading somewhere that we could turn in our items from v1.0, but I never caught wind of where or how. Here I had been deleting my dated gear and so forth... poo
But yes, in 1.0 there were a total of 10 different "seasonal" events. Even though they were tied with real life celebrations, they were still given lore to explain them in the context of the game.

Most MMO's have events set at the same time as real life events, but have them set firmly within the boundaries of the game's lore. People want to celebrate these events, even within a game that does not celebrate the same events. So the developers create events appropriate in content and design to have similar styles and content so as to appeal to the audience receiving them.
I'm spoiled with the whole Holidays event in MMO's but really the only MMO I usually play is PSO/PSU where they had one for Halloween,Christmas and New Year's (I think Thanksgiving too but can't remember) and monsters to go along with the Holidays. Whether it be a usual monster dressed in a santa suit or giving a monster a scary look for Halloween but SEGA hasn't come out with a new PSO/PSU game in the U.S for a good while sadly so I turned to DCU and wasn't happy with it and now I'm playing this game.
Makes me miss those awesome days of that game! but anyways I'm hoping they do something of this sort with this game. I look forward to it!
I would certainly count on it, they decorated all the cities of Vana'diel in FFXI to the max every year, plus had quite a few goodies to purchase. Nothing too exciting but I'd expect there to be X-Mas outfits and fireworks.
I LOVE holiday events. I eat them up and demand more. They are full of fun, great content and things that are just there for show. I love it!
It certainly does rack in the holiday cheer.
You spend time with in-game friend with neat events and rl with friends and family so it's twice the fun.![]()
Nice! :-) Did they do anything for Halloween?I would certainly count on it, they decorated all the cities of Vana'diel in FFXI to the max every year, plus had quite a few goodies to purchase. Nothing too exciting but I'd expect there to be X-Mas outfits and fireworks.
