It's been a long road here for many 1.0 players. I like these kind of threads and if anyone would like to get involved, I'm sure there are some hilarious things to be said.

Back in the days... we threw stones at Ifrit to stun Hellfire!
... we didn't stun eruption.
... only leveled off coblyns.
... guesstimated AoE radius.
... were excited to see notorious monsters.
... we feared being spotted/smelled/heard by monsters higher level than us.
... lopped off the tails of lizards, cracked crab shells, crippled dodos, and broke the horn off of goats and even Ifrit.
Back in my day THMs were considered primary healers.
Back in my day, my physical level was capped before my second job and I got xp for every hit.
Back in my day we hunted for the ancient cyclops for hours to get our journeymen boots. Wait, too far back you say? Hm.
Back in my day, You just walked outside. Not a black loading screen!
Back in my day, Coerthas was green!! (still upset about this!)
Back in the day, it took a few weeks to hit level 50 and we loved every minute of it....even ground through the fatigue. Can you imagine the tears and tantrums if it took that long now....
Back in my day.... Classes were utterly worthless once you unlocked Jobs and they weren't meant to be...
Oh wait, that's still the case...
Back in my day....
The game was barely even playable due to a laggy/poorly designed interface.
The world may have been seamless and the graphics technically sharper but the world was a lifeless copy/paste mess.
One of the most moronic things I've ever seen in an MMO, the fatigue system, prevented you from working on leveling the class you wanted to level.
There was literally no content to speak of and leveling consisted of a couple levequests here and there and killing crabs for hours. Endgame? What's endgame?
There were some tracks I wish were still in the game today (old Limsa theme and "Twilight Over Thanalan"). The music and graphics were probably the only ups about the game.
Thank you Yoshi-P for bringing a "New Day" to Eorzea, it's come such a long way and it's not perfect but it's miles better than what we had "back in my day".
Back in my day...
There was a giant red ball of death in the sky.
Back in my day...
There were lvl 99 ghosts roaming around in certain corners of the world that would 1 shot you off your chocobo <.<
Back in my days...

Back in my day.... Werdna sucked alot more than he claimed Trebor did.
...and don't even get me started on Murphy....
Back in my day...
The sound of THM's AoE sacrifice used to make me really happy.
Back in my day..... i remember trying to sneak into the Yagudo Castle to complete my BST AF and never coming out of there alive !!
No wait thats FFXI, i guess that works for you guys too, right?
:)
Back in my day...
you had to check every retainer for goodies.
Shield (Sentinel) was its own class and I had it capped before anything since it shared with GLA, THM and CNJ.

Pepperidge farm remembers.
Back in my day... I mastered explorer class navigating the shroud.
nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
Back in 1.0 people power leveled 7 others at wolf camp with 1 warrior in Natalan.
Back in my day, Shield skill had a dedicated ability that you had to activate in order to block anything ("raise your shield") and you had to wait for it to expire before you were allowed to do it again.
Back in my day, people were generally scared of any levequest involving imps.
Back in my day, we rang bells for every holiday. No exceptions.
Back in my day, parties were capped at 15. You could ride, fish and craft a few things on the ferry before it docked- and LL looked awesome as you approached its docks on a stormy night! :D
Back in my day, you could collect all the aetherytes without getting aggro.
