We have passed the threshold of allowable behavior. If you step outside any major city low level gathering is more bot's and hackers then regular players trying to level. Speed hacking lalafel's, and the ever infamous stealthed teleport hackers. They're everywhere now, and in numbers way beyond our own calculations.
You can't enter a city without every allowable chat channel being bombarded with gold spam. You get tells from the same people day after day. You see the same spammers in the city day after day.
The economy is getting worse and worse because of botters and hackers corning the market on all gatherable and farmable items, and undercutting each other it's not profitable for anybody.
I'm losing faith in this game, and losing faith in you as developers. It's getting sickening to me to see more and more hackers and spammers and cheaters day after day not getting taken care of. It's getting pathetic that the only people getting banned are honest crafters trying to make money.
It's time to start putting a handle on this, you're reputation is diminishing more and more each passing day that you allow this to happen. I'm tired of being in the dark on this, it's not helping.

I've actually noticed an improvement on the hacker-bots the past week. Spent several hours yesterday in every starter area gathering resources and didn't see a SINGLE stealth teleporting bot (which was a first in a long time.)
Spamming is of course still pretty rampant, but when you cut off the snakes head the body will die. I'll give it a few months before I condemn the game as ruined because of bots and gold spammers.
Here's hoping for a better tomorrow.

I've seen a bit less teleporters lately, but I've seen an increase of speed hacking miners lately. There is tons of them around Ul'dah farming lightning shards.
Seriously though, this is one of the biggest issues the game has. It's obliterating their very honor as a game developer. It needs to be handled NOW. I'm sick and tired of a month straight of constant gold spams, from the same people, and hackers dominating outdoor world farming. -

and search throught those, its not so hard work to do.
There is even this gathering/invisible/teleport crap's download on youtube. Download it SE, analyze it, fix your mistake, make anti-solution. Or I don't know what else you can do about it.
Ban all those cheaters, make some anti-solution for this. I am Sick of all those noobs and hackers, who make money this way - and they re proud about it, they feel like they re pros.
They just ruin fun/eco for us, fair players. -

I met my first 'playing' bot in Sastasha yesterday. a tank that always ran to the mob spots, waited a few seconds (I guess a programmed time to make sure the players are 'ready') and he ran after all the mobs. whenever he died he did the same. he was the tank, mind you. he always only attacked one mob at a time and you noticed how he turned around every once in a while and tagged us actual players (to check if they are there?)
a few times he did that randomly in fight too and ran to the player who won loot every time. (that one was a little odd)
during the last boss he used the limit break every time it was up. this included using the limit break at the START of the fight. (once I was able to get my THM lb in before he did. no clue how I managed that. lol)
said 'tank' ran around in random level DoW gear and at the end of the dungeon he wrote randomly '???' a few times and used a couple of random emotes on the other players (/wave /bow /grin and so on) -

I lost faith in SE. They have proven themselves to be a dishonorable company. My Char on the JP server (Fenrir) since launch has only had 6 /tells from RMT. No spamming of the chat channels. On the NA/EU server (Balmung), constant flooding of /shout, /tell, /say, and /yell, so bad had to turn them all off. Which really defeats the purpose of an MMO, which is interacting with other players.
Paying for a service and then being harassed constantly, proves SE cares nothing for its customers. Many of my friends and I cancelled our subs and won't be back. So good luck to those of you who choose to stay, I hope SE can turn things around for you. -

SE are working on it. They have much to work on. Funny how people think a company has a never ended supply of people and money to throw at every single complaint all at once.

The only MMO that has any major success in dealing with and eliminating RMT to a certain extent at least is EVE Online and the PLEX system basicly you can buy plex from EVE redeem them use them yourself or sell on the market.
why buy from RMT which can get you banned when you can buy off the company that owns the game.
FYI in eve a plex = 1 months game time
some people willing to buy them yes can potencially get very rich but at the same time the person who buys it plays for free and the sale price for them on the market is player driven -

As long as something needs time and/or work to obtain in an mmo, RMT will try to be there to sell it to you. And there will be players who want to buy. So CCP basically just made an in house RMT, governed by the in game market(Which is all one server as well) and it pushes away external RMT due to the competition and "legality" of it.Quote:

Having said that, I would like to ask that players to please be careful when going on third party sites. This includes any wikis that have not been officially sanctioned by Square-Enix. Additionally, buying a security token or downloading the security application should be on everyone's to-do list.
I can't speak for other servers, but Excalibur is seeing an influx of players who have been having accounts stolen. People who haven't ever bought gil have lost their accounts thanks to keyloggers conspicuously added onto PCs through questionable information sites. The best way to avoid your account being stolen (along with never buying gil from the cheaters) is to avoid any website that you think could potentially be associated with gil advertisements. "It will never happen to me," is a popular attitude, but that is a saying that no one should ever truly believe with 100% certainty. -

I think the biggest issue is how inactive the GMs are in FFXIV. If i report an RMT for spamming a city, or someone who is teleporting from mining point to mining point. Than a GM should be there quickly to resolve it. This "Wait and see" approach is just stupid. By the time they investigate the accused account they've already flooded hundreds of thousands of gil into the economy. They need a more active GM force. I reported a bot earlier today while i was mining Lightning shards in Central Thanalan. Three hours later they were still there, teleporting from node to node, as if i didn't report them. I got no confirmation that my "report" was even acknowledged or recieved. No replies, no /tells from any GM or anything. As if my report just went to the void.
And this is one of the reasons i'm on the fence for subbing. I have no issues with a subscription game, infact i prefer a sub. But i want to know my money is going to better the game, not just to line some pockets. -

With the shear amount of accounts that have been hacked there as been a security leak somewhere a member from my FC had there account hacked and they said on mumble that the password they use is unique to this game and not used at all with any other site/game this to me hints the leak has come from se's end the amount of hacked accounts should worry se and is a security token is the key to stop account hacking the se should send them to everybody who subs free of charge a company as rich as se im sure would make the money back in the first round of subs anyway the tokens cost peanuts to make
