Ombeline not opening trade window in the quest "Factual Folklore"

I am also on Gilgamesh and having the same problem.

I am a Miqo'te F SMN 39. I am using AT&T Universe ISP, and have had the problem since 9/27, 5:30pm until present.

I'm on gilgamesh as well and experiencingthe same problem, quest NPC Ombeline is unresponsive.

I'm having the bug as well on Gilgamesh. Sent in an in-game report too.

Also on Gilgamesh having the same issue. There are about 8 of us clustered around the npc unable to access the trade window.

I have been unable to turn in as well on Gilgamesh; haven't been able to since early evening last night, and it's blocking my progress to Stone Vigil.

Same NPC, my character turns to face her but she doesn't get up nor open a dialogue box.

I am encountering this same issue.
I am also on the Gilgamesh server. The hotkey bar greys out for a split second, as though a dialogue box is about to pop up, but nothing happens.

Same issue on Gilgamesh. I have not seen anyone successfully do this quest since not being able to myself.

Yeah Im having this problem too. Its a server side bug obviously and doesn't really have anything to do with your internet connection. Its probably something really stupid like a missing ; or something spelled wrong in a line of code. Regardless SE needs to get on it ASAP.

Yep, kind sucks that it has been like this since last night, can't not progress in the story or unlock the dungeons that come with it.

This bug has my progression as halted. Bumping in hopes for a fix soon.

Ombeline needs to learn her place and eat the damn steak I made her.

Is rebooting that zone a nontrivial thing?

This has honestly been the biggest buzzkill I've encountered in a game in a long while. Getting only two nights a week to play and having that progress completely halted due to a bug is infuriating. This problem is further exacerbated by the fact that so much content is hidden behind the main quest, for little to no reason. Being able to complete the quest wouldn't be such a priority if I could still run dungeons with my friends who are ahead of me, raid, and conduct all those other endgame activities. If these problems are not solved permanently, and soon, I can honestly say I will not be subscribing, although to this point I was loving this game.

I am also getting quite angry about this. Ombelline is not responding for at least 2 days now, on Gilgamesh, as you can tell, and with no story, no forward progression. It is exasperating how Square doesn't even care enough about their customer base to have a "GM" in game to respond to ANYTHING! Story blocking bugs are a major foul up. Even things like "my gear is gone" isn't as top a priority, although annoying! I have been enjoying this game, but with enough hurdles repeatedly being put before me, I too will reconsider my subscription. Square needs to be responsive to North American player needs as well!!!

Same on Gilgamesh and now I cannot advance in the main story. This should be a priority SE and we can even get in touch with a GM. This needs to be fixed now before your player base leaves because they cannot advance.

I don't think the player base is going to abandon ship, but it is a big inconvenience to a lot of people. I just wish they had someone watching the bug forum over the weekend to give us an update as to when this will be addressed.
