Energy drain is "missing" in coil T_T

Blow a valuble aetherflow charge on energy drain only for it to miss :(.
All dps spells are missing the majority of times in coil as a healer.
Working as intended? Imo give cleric stance a boost to accuracy dependant on our mind.Adding some DPS as healer made the role less monotonous and allowed skilled healers to do better.

You need high Accuracy for Coil right now because it is intended to be done in higher level gear than we currently have access to, as we are missing Crystal Tower.

You will miss often, especially undergeared. It's working as intended.

I am sch though. Is there even accuracy on healer gear? Am i supposed to allocate my some of my stats towards accuracy just so i can get mana back from energy drain lol

Coil 1-4 seem tuned for darklight gear and relic weapon. In fact its very forgiving even so. I Don't know why people keep parroting "tuned for crystal tower gear" People who have done coil 5 say its a R.N.G gods fight and gear level was not an issue at all. Maybe gear will matter for coil 6 or something.

And there aint much mind accuracy gear either ;o clearly working as intented!

"Accuracy" will boost magic accuracy too. You could invest in acc food I suppose.

People are "parroting" this because this is what SE has told us. Outside of our weapon, our gear is not tailored for Coil. The people that are successful in Coil are doing it on a difficulty level much higher than intended. Coil gives ilvl90 gear, and we are using ilvl90 weapons with ilvl70 armor, give or take people who have managed to get Relic Armor with their Mythologies so far.

Attempting a dungeon that drops ilvl90 gear at ilvl70 is going to be tougher. Crystal Tower will give ilvl80 gear that will ease the gap, hence why we keep mentioning it.

Wasn't it posted by Yoshi that he would be surprised if people could finish coil before 2.1 came out anyway? I think SE knows this gap exists and knows the fix is coming.

Working as intended?

You do realize that scholars will still miss energy drains in coil even in full AF2/Allagan gear, right?

Technically Energy Drain is an offensive skill, so it can miss like any other.

You shouldn't really need the mana, so I would save the charges for Lustrate and Sacred Soil, they will come in more handy.

It WOULD be nice for energy drain to be 100% accurate (the damage is peanuts, its all about the mana regen), as it can be used by SCH who cannot get Accuracy (it's an offensive stat), but oh well.

coil 4 is doable with dl and relic+1, coild 1-3 is doable with mostly DL and relic. Coil 5 is..let's not talk about coil 5.

Ofc you dont need the mana, if whm can get by then obviously sch can.

Though there are plenty of times you need to use up your aetherflow charges quickly since aetherflow just came off cd and you want to use it without wasting charges, energy drain is generally the efficient way to use it . But that isn't an option in coil since energy drain will just miss most of the time.

It seems intended to me, it puts our mana use on par with a WHM (as in we both need mana song at about the same times).
It also lets you lustrate / sacred soil a lot more.

If your having mana issues it is possible you are not using physick enough, and/or your other healer isn't doing enough, and/or tank/group isn't geared enough.

the i90 gear does not have accuracy either... I don't understand why you would thank the i80 would.

We use a warrior and a paladin in my group (so tank damage is higher then a pld/pld) .. and a whm and a sch... I have 0 mana issues on coil 1-4 with never casting energy drain.

Forgot to mention.. use selene to increase group dps , instead of personal dps also.

It's annoying, either way.

Put it this way: I don't NEED to use Lustrate or Sacred Soil during certain portions of a fight. When Aetherflow comes off cooldown, I'm going to burn my charges to top-off and reset. It would be nice if they didn't miss.

Also: it's easy to say you don't have mana problems in coil when you have a bard to top you up.
