Suggestion: Allow us to Parley with Other Players

Quite a simple feature that could add a lot of fun. Have it come up under the interaction menu. For players who don't want to be bothered with it, give them a /parleyoff command so no one can invite them to a game.

The idea is that before the round begins you put up an item or some gil. Proceed to play the match. To the victor go the spoils.

Thoughts?

i would rather play tetra master ingame. i hate parley, its so slooow

would be a nice way to pass the time and you could have parlay events where someone puts up something really good to the finalist to try and win.

/support to the fullest I would love to parley a stack of shards/crystals

I dont like Parley but I'll agree on suggestion, I'd much prefer tetra master though.

100% Parley with ncp's and other player outside of quest will be great :)
I did find an NCP who flashed up the Parley sign in the Adv guild in Gridania the other day, sadly i was on my char who hasnt done that quest yet but cant wait to go back and talk to her when I have, (NCP just by the stairs on the way down to the Airship entrance)

I think there is the one NPC in each city-state you can parly with. Although the difficulty is piss-easy once you get beyond a certain rank and you get to pick one of four items to wager on your parley.

Implementing this wager-based idea further rather than just having parley-barriers in story quests would be an awesome way to bring out this under-utilized mechanic.

another feature that went totally under utilized, there were supposed to be a lot more npcs to parley with, with more items, and better items for spanking them greatly. Even has an ability tab that does nothing. This game is full with the ghosts of content

I like this idea. I would much rather do Parley then Tetra.

i'd rather see parley eradicated entirely in place of a more substantial mini game like tetra master/triple triad. sorry to sound like a jerk.. but parley is a really half assed mini game.

It get's more interesting on the 30 crafting quests Doho.

if they made parley fun, and a slight challenge at least i would agree, as long as it is far worse then playing solitair, i don't see any reason to do that with any other player unless i wanna piss that person off :D

Parley is a challenge. It's not at lower levels but as you do more of the quests it get's harder. I like the fact that it is a mini-game in the game. Much more enjoyable then DoL and DoH mini-game type harvesting/crafting. I think players that feel it is too easy may not have tried the harder level's yet. It's alot of fun and I really enjoy it.

Agreed, and I'd like to see it as well! We could even wager items in our inventory as bets or something.

Parley is the worst mini game ever.

Parley is fun and i would like to see it implemented, maybe with a few tweaks to improve as it is it looks a little shabby and needs to be more of a challenge but overall a nice addition.

The thing about Triple Triad is that it would be incredibly hard to balance. While in FFVIII, as you progress through the game, the difficulty increases, in a MMO, high level players would get the best cards very soon - defeating other players easily. It would be a matter of who's faster to get the best cards, and not the one who plays better.

Or we could... you know... have both :S ... LoL

I agree. Allow PvP parley, increase game speed, expand on it later when there's more room for little stuff. That's WAY better than simply resorting to copy pasting previous stuff *cof, cof, Tetra Master / Triple Triad*

I think Parley is pretty fun. The thing making people hate it is that they used it for a way to progress in the main story.. which wasn't the best move IMO.

Parley with other players would be nice. also think they should include it in some of the side-quests (if they haven't). It's more suited to that format I think.
