Looking for everyones opinion on what job they should Add next and why :D
This thread has happened before, but dancer.
Hybrid healer/rogue class, heavier emphasis on the healing.
With the tp model of this game, it could be perfect.
Or awful.
Edit: Heck, like Arc/SMN/SCH, make thief and dancer come from the same job, where thief is heavy on the dd but light on the healing.
thief. ranger. red mage. in that order
Ninja, Samurai or anything that doesn't make Archer a Bard..
Give me my Dark Knight (DPS), either as an alternate Gladiator class (possible but ugh, all my bonus points in VIT), or as a new Class/Job combo. I need this like yesterday.

the best choice is thief/ninja (mostly from the same class if not thief as class and ninja as jobs)
we don't have a scout class and we already have 5 ranged class against 4 melee.
after mostly possible Dark knight as tank, for add another tank.
redmage not before the first extansion that sure.
Squire with Thief and Ninja as jobs D:
Civil Engineer!
Temple knight > Templar / Dark Knight
Rogue > Thief / Ninja
Musketeer -> Corsair. It's all I want ;_;
Blue mage!
I'm not sure how it would work out in an MMO but it was one of my favorites.
Gunman. Let me playing as a freaking Bounty Hunter like Clint Eastwood in western movies.
I WANT GUNBLADES. Also:
1- A dodge tank.
2- Dark Knight.
3- Rogue/Thief class.
1. probably Ronin class that stems into Nin and Sam in Ala Migho
2. Didnt Yoshi P mention a separate class wielding G.sword would be introduced in future?
3. They need to implement thief/rogue/assassin somehow. it's iconic ff, fundamental to the mmo genre and heaps of people have always lvl-ed this class.
I'm really interested to see what Dancer is like.
Dark Knight > Smaurai > Arithmetician (more along the lines of ff12 and the spell "Double")
Dancer please!
Musketeer -> Sniper or Musketeer -> Gunner, perhaps both Sniper and Gunner as jobs. Cannoneer or Fusilier would fit as well I suppose.
I just want an excuse to make a second character for Limsa Lominsa.
I do ponder if a gun class will be less kiting than the archer, more powerful/supportive but with "firing times" that are similar to what the magic classes currently use.

I'd like to see a Scout class that spawns a Thief job and a Dancer job. But with only two current healing jobs, two tank jobs and four DPS jobs, I think a new tank job will probably come first and my vote on that would be Dark Knight. New jobs would mainly be for vanity at this point, but I would still be all over something that isn't the same exact jobs everyone else has and i would love to see new classes to go with new jobs so people don't instalevel to 50 the day they are released and would have to actually work on them the old fashioned way.
2 tanks
2 healers
2 magic dps
2 physical melee dps
1 physical ranged dps
Next class Musketeer. Job = Corsair
Samurai could fit the tank role. As could ninja but I don't think an evasion tank would work that well in FFXIV (without being massively overpowered). "Evasion" is dodging red and other colored indicators. Ninja is still a mandatory job for the game though, it just doesn't necessarily have to be a tank (players made ninja into a tank in FFXI, it wasn't meant to be one in concept while Samurai, which became DD, was supposed to be a tank in concept).
The only issue is lore...and we'll probably need to wait for an expansion before we see samurai or ninja. The most we can hope for is Musketeer, which should've been in the game at 1.0's launch but is still missing.
Archer needs Ranger or Hunter (and Bard needs to be altered from being a DPS job to a support job)
Gladiator needs a DPS job (Duelist? Rune Fencer? Fencer?).
Marauder needs a DPS job (Dark Knight? Viking? Berserker?).
Conjurer could use a DPS job (Sage? Devout?).
Pugilist could use a tank role (Black Belt?).
Lancer could have a tank role as well i suppose...though it's kind of a contradiction to what Lancer's are supposed to be (Sentinel?).
Add Musketeer to Limsa (Corsair-style support and Gunner dps), add a Rogue class to Ul'dah (Thief support role/Dancer healer) or make Alchemist a unique DoH that has a combat job crystal (healer role), add a Red Mage class to Gridania (Time/Green Mage/Geomancer support role and Mystic Knight/Blue Mage dps role).
Red Mage, Red Mage, Red Mage, and Dark Knight, in that order.
Red Mage and Dark Knight can respectively use the Fencer and Lanista classes from FF Tactics A2, respectively. Lanista was great sword and dark magic seeq job that can work for Dark Knight's class.
White Knight guys.... seriously. Why nobody like White Knights. It is popular in the forums, why not make it in game.
1) It will be a completely new class
2) It boost the player's ego.
3) 2 or more will boost their defense throught the roof! Don't need healers free up the space for extra White Knights for added DPS bonus.
With such great utilites why would anyone pass off being 1!
I will :) Giving it acouple days or when they stop!
Thief/Rogue, Corsair, Dark Knight.
DRK and i want it yesterday ^^ and something like hunter/ranger for archers 2nd job
Thief, like the one from GW2. 14k crits ftw

Class Vagrant(katana) > Job Samurai(DPS)(Lancer/Arcanist), Ninja(DPS)(Thaumaturge,Talon)
Class Talon(Knives and Daggers) > Job Thief(DPS/TANK)(Pugulist,Archer), Dancer(HEALER/DPS)(Conjurer,Lancer)
Vagrant are skilled Katana (one or two hand) users that have access to magic imbued physical attacks. They have abilities that can change the element of their attack with each element forcing a different weakness into a monster. All abilities use both MP and TP.
At level 30 can unlock Samurai (Two handed only) a Job that summons the magic of their blades. Their job skills are based on dealing higher physical damage and chaining two abilities together into the same manuever. They get an ability that has them wait until you've selected two different abilities and then blends them into a single more powerful attack. Attacks lower their MP cost but gain a larger TP cost.
At level 30 can unlock Ninja (dual wielding one handed only) a Job that focuses more on the magical side of the scale debilitating their foes with flashy magics. Attacks become MP cost only and the cost rises.
Talon are skilled knife and dagger users can use shields. They can get in close to the enemy without fear of reprisal attacks and have a trait that allows them a higher dodge rate of AOE attacks. Their abilites allow them to strip or break defenses and shore them up with party members.
At level 30 can unlock Thief who uses a shield and dagger. Thieves specialize in picking apart their enemies defenses from up close. They get an ability that allows them to steal beneficial statuses from their enemies and take it on as their own. While also being able to dispel a negative status from a party member and force it onto their enemy. They can't take as many direct hits as a Warrior or Paladin, but they are fast enough to avoid them all together.
At level 30 can unlock Dancer who dual wield knives. They get in close and bleed their enemies dry, using the damage they deal to fuel healing magics for the party. They have an ability that deals Damage over time to the enemy which heals all party members fighting the monster with restore health when they attack.
dark knight, cuz its fcking awesome
Scout class > Thief (SCT30/PUG30) and Ninja jobs (SCT30/ARC15)
Both should have access to dual wield,
I like how thief focused on sneak attacks and enmity generation / transfering in XI. With steal (item steal) and mug (minor damage + gil plunder)
Ninja should focus on sneak attacks, ninjutsu (utsusemi!) and throw. (shurikens?)
I guess the Musketeer / Corsair is pretty much the next job as the guild is already there
other than that... I really really really really really ... really want to see more DoM - Only 3 mages that's just no worthy FF title!
Red Mage, Blue Mage, Green Mage, Time Mage, Sage, Illusionist, Bishop, Oracle, Geomancer....
Samurai, but not as a tank as some suggest stricltly DPS please. It never has been a tanking class in any iteration of FF, always been about damage.
Rogue based class I suppose thief/ninja would fit this well, we have musketeer hiding somewhere also as ranged dps so I imagine that will turn up eventually.
Red or Blue Mage for a caster, not a big fan of the other types.
EDIT: Almost forgot I would love to see machinist, engineer and gunner (musketeer fits here I suppose) cross over into an mmo setting.
As it stands, S-E Consider there to be 4 mages. SCH and SMN counted seperately as they are are entirely different roles in application.
Also, please look to the FFXI Release, Until rise of the Zilart came out only WHM RDM and BLM existed as magic classes. The others, WAR THF MNK PLD DRK BST BRD and RNG, none of which are strictly magic classes.
With Rise of the Zilart, the only new Dedicated caster was Summoner.
I think we have enough for now and need some jobs with variety.
Maybe ninja can have ranged attacks and melee attacks that require fixed distances (cant use his ranged up close).
I would like to see:
Time Mage
Green Mage
Devout
Sage
Viking
berserker
Mystic Knight
Onion Knight
