What's the most optimal party setup for Titan HM?

So my group has been 7/8 in Mor Dhona waiting for 1 scholar to show up for the past 2 hours. You get to 7/8 then wait for a SCH to pop. Hours and hours of waiting. Its annoying.

So to pass the time i've been thinking of optimal party setups for the content. I really dig the BRD/BLM/BLM/SMN combo for [Foe Requiem] but I hear that 3 bards is really good for this fight. What do you feel is the best combo?

1 Tank 5 DPS 2 Heals

1 PLD
1 MNK
1-2 BRD
2-3 SMN
1 SCH
1 WHM

or 1 Tank 4 DPS 2 Heal

1 PLD
1 MNK
2 SMN
1 BRD
1 WHM
1 SCH

In my experience summoners way out-perform BLM in this fight due to not having to really interrupt much of their damage to move. Monk is there solely for the LB.

Brds and SMNs are by far the optimal DD in that fight. Pld is miles better then War in the fight due to the much higher dmg mitigation.

1 pld, 2 smns, 3brd, 1whm, 1sch is what we run when we want to get it done quickly and easily.

so 2 melee dps isn't reccomended?

my 3 healer setup worked quite well.

MNK/BRD/BRD/SMN/WHM/WHM/SCH

1 Paladin, 3 Black Mage, 2 Bard, 1 White Mage and 1 Scholar

Bards can use foe req to boost black mage's magic and really pump out the damage.

ranged dds are best, I'd grab one close range to limit break.

3 bards wreck it.

but it all boils down to being able to dodge.

I would say never take 3 healers because its a waste of a slot that could be dps. All of titans damage is avoidable except stomps/jumps and ofcorse tank damage.

1 PLD
2 WHM
5 DPS

Helps to have at least 1 bard to keep rain of death on Titan and can ballad if WHM's need mp. Brd is probably the best dps on it because it can dodge stuff and still dps, and smn next best, and at least 1 melee for single target LB.

I'm a scholar! Too bad I haven't tried Titan yet <_< Waiting for my LS/FC members to gear up (I'm still one week away from af+1 body) before we attempt that one. Too bad all our tanks seem to be warriors

5 PLD, 1 MNK, 1 WHM, 1 SCH. You know, 'cause if the first gimmick doesn't work, try try again. (I've never done this, just heard this is the latest attempt to circumvent the content.)

PLD, WHM, SCH, (MNK or DRG) BRD, BRD, BLM, (BLM or SMN).

just got my first titan win with MNK/BRD/BRD/SMN/SMN/WHM/SCH/PLD

feels good

1 tank
1 melee DPS
3 or 4 ranged dps
2 or 3 healers

People will fight all day whether 2 or 3 healers is better. It depends on your capabailities. 3 healers makes it easier to survive and makes it more possible to continue on if you lose one of them. But you will also take longer and be subject to larger tumult sequences. 5 DPS will end the fight faster but staying alive in the final phase is a bit harder.

um ive beaten titan quite a few times with pld whm sch drg drg brd blm/smn blm/smn you dont need to stack classes/jobs to win i have never had more then 1 brd in my pt at any given time just need good players who know how to dodge.
i have dealt with class stacking in 1.0 not going to deal with it here thus im not gearing blm or brd for me atm i either go drg or not at all lol

Optimal is relative in titan. As long as everyone knows what to do any setup can do it.

I found the setup wasn't important. We killed Titan with two pal tanks without build any lb bar. The most important is don't invite people who is easy make mistake for that fight. that is mean they are not qualified and they need more practisce before join a serous group. healers are key for this fight. Titan qualified healer isn't easy to find.

yeah, in my experience you can't go wrong with the 3 healer set up ( all WHMs or 2WHMs + 1SCH )... of course you'll have to make it up by having some REALLY good DDs to get him down at heart...especially if he traps one in second rock, but after that, it's cake... dodge, dodge, dodge!! ^^

it's sad when people would only take melee dps for their lb. ;_; i'm really thankful to my fc they bring me along their titan fights as a mnk.

Try being a Warrior...

1 tank, 5 dps and 2 healers.

Jobs don't matter, this is Titan and it's not hard no matter the composition as long as people can avoid bad stuff.

Optimal and viable are different things, you can down titan fairly easily with any setup, Ive done it with one healer, however if your trying to kill it as fast as possible, I would take 1 melee, and stack 4 SUM/BRD/BLM as your dps

Pretty much the best setup I can think of.
