Current DPS Class/Jobs don't interest me :(

Ranged dps usually bores me(except archer). I hate having to stand still and cast a 2+ second spell. I like to hit hard with giant 2h swords. The lancer is the closest that we have to what I want, but it still doesn't feel right. I hope they add additional Classes/Jobs soon, because as of now none of them interest me. I really want to play this game, but I find my self logging out quickly after realizing I have to FATE grind if I want to play any other jobs. I also dislike how each Class/Job is locked to a single role.

2 things that I hope they add soon:

-A 2h sword dps class
-More fun way to level alternate classes

What are 2 things that you would really like SE to change/add?

I still find it odd that they left out Dark Knight as one of the initial jobs.

Because it's the class Eorzea deserves, but not the one it needs right now

try to think of what your preferred Job would have as main class/subclasses and level those while you wait :P that's kind of what i'm doing.. bouncing around MNK/WAR and now leveling BLM in hopes of DRK/RDM

welcome to my world i prefer some type of warrior DPS and the monk and dragoon don't interest me plus the global cooldown seems slower than i'm use to hate to say but found swtor classes more fun

I hate how awesome you are.

You dont have to grind FATEs if you dont like it. I just do it the old way and grind dungeons. Might be a bit slower but at least you get rewarded with good gear.

I am at the point where I can't find the right class also. I have a tank, dps and healer, but I get bored on all of them. I wish there was a stealth class, for that is what I like to play the most, can't believe they didn't incorporate one on day 1 :(

give me samurai, ninja , beastmaster and blue mage and im happy lol

God, 2 seconds is suuuuch a long wait, I can't possibly wait 2 seconds for anything!

I hope they put in DRK but it uses scythes again so people will rage and QQ over it.

Morpher would be fun... it would probably fit well with the Shepard DoL class that's supposedly in the pipeline.

MRD/LNC = DRK or MRD/BLK = DRK with special DRK only scythes/gswords

More fun, yes, but not even going to try it with current queue times. I guess I could go get some healer/tank friends, but that would require me to socialize in my mmo :P.

Similar situation for me. Lancer/dragoon is a huge disappointment to me.

Dragoon have always been highly armored unit who focus on mid range combat and smartly avoiding attack with jump while doing large amount of damage. None of that made it in the game.

And has far as gameplay go, there amazingly boring, in solo situation I can't use most ability, so for now my rotation is 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2, but whooo I can look forward to it becoming 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3, whopedo so much fun. In group situation I have to pretty much hope the tank will keep the boss stable otherwise it screw up my rotation. To make matter worse it seems like melee constantly has to run out of melee range, making our damage garbage compare to range.

If they added a new tank/dd we'd have faster df que times :P

Well Red Mage I can understand not releasing early into the game since it is a Hybrid Class/Job

Thief is the one I question

We already have 4 of the big 6 in FF14: Warrior, Monk, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage, and Red Mage are the big 6 because they are the first class/job in the FF series.

I enjoy ACN. It's sort of the Red Mage substitute for FFXIV, minus the melee combat. Curious thing is, Amhal'ja have RDM spells but no player class does... why?

DRAGOON can do all of that where Lancer cannot. They get your standard Jump attack, a stunning jump that can also function as a good gap closer as it puts you right next to them, a fire damage area attack jump, and another jump that can help get out of attack areas as well as bind and weight status.

Monk has been too fun for me so far, it's having to move around more than the other classes while still keeping up a rotation. Makes things interesting because you still have to dodge and stuff while keeping a combo going. If the combo dies than you loose your buffs, not that it's hard to get back. Fun job imo though. MONK FO LIFE

I'd like a thief, much like the one in GW2.
That was a fun class, dropping a shroud then critting 2.6k on a Elementalist and one hitting it. :')

i'm surprised that thief isn't one of the initial jobs ~_~

I would like a melee dps class I can actually enjoy as well, where I don't have to depend on the tank's not sucking so very much (like Monk). Challenging is one thing, needlessly frustrating is another. I am playing BRD - and it's fun enough, as ranged goes - because it feels the most fast-paced without being constrained by other people's performance but ranged dps in general just isn't my thing, I could never truly love it and I really miss melee. Here's hoping rogue/thief/ninja/whatever will be fun.

get to 50 and begin to do something fun, you just ruin your first post, and while you lvl DRG, get PGL to lvl 15 as well

So, I'm pretty new to the FF series. I have a short attention span and could never get into the turn based systems. I just now looked up the Dark Knight job and I think I'm in love. The DK is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.

Thats why I stopped playing 1 week ago.
No class appeal to me right now.
If they add Samurai, Thief or Gunblade I start playing again.

Yeah, I log in every now and then. I'll do a fate or two then get super bored.

the probelm is that Samurais or Thiefs will be 1,2,3 too

If you think snail is a bit slower kind of species than sure you might believe that dungeons are 'bit slower' to level. See you next year when you hit 50.

DRK should be similar to what it was in FFXI-very high melee damage but needing good accuracy, and with drain spells. Heavy armor and scythe/ great sword of course. If they make it into a tank class I suppose they could make it into some sort of drain tank that holds enmity mostly through damage. Personally I hope they will keep it as DD, as I do not want to tank :P

I'm in kind of the same boat as the OP, as I'm trying to find a class to keep at 50. Currently have BRD at my highest followed by WHM and SCH. Best of luck to everyone in class limbo, and I hope they bring out suitable classes soon.

Maybe not everyone is in a rush to max everything out. I personally prefer to do dungeons rather than camping FATEs as I can possibly get gear for my other classes that I want to level further on down the road. As it is now, in the 20s it only takes a couple dungeon runs to get a level and I can do some crafting or gathering while I wait.

Jeez and here I've been rotating my 20 different abilities during boss battles. Shows how bad I am at DRG.
