After completing the FATE and picking up my swimsuits (excuse me, "heat resistant gear"), it immediately ceased to feel as though ANY event was going on... I miss the town-wide decorations and the change in music.
I hope the other events won't be this...small.
Why if I didn't check the lodestone, I'd hardly know there was any event at all.

I believe i read somewhere that they said this one was pretty minor due to being right at release date, but they still wanted to be sure to get it in, and that others would be better.

I agree, it's a rather 'minor' event, but I didn't expect much given the short time after launch and the number of problems they are still trying to deal with.
At this point I'd rather than dedicate every resource possible towards the spammers / hackers and the server stability. I realize that the events team is most likely a separate group of employees, but at some level they have to share resources even if it just management's time and QC. -

xmas event in 1.0 was really kewl. city wide decorations, light snow falling in cities, xmas music in cities. and little bits even outside the town. This is their first minor event. keep your pants on....

Not trying to compare games at all, and I am in love with FXIV ARR, but when GW2 had it's events going on, like Halloween and Christmas, there was no way you DIDN'T know about it. Huge deals, and it was really cool. Hoping for some of this in our game ^___^

I'll admit that I was pretty disappointed with this event. Rushed or not it doesn't feel like an event at all. No special music, no fireworks representing the celebration, no special music, and the FATE (UGH STOP USING THESE) was already in the game.

Yeah, rather silly event. The reward was being able to get bondage clothing and sparklers....I do like the sparklers.... You would all love the screen shots I made when I put the two together :)

I feel it'd be a lot more fun if more people would take breaks from grinding through dungeons and fate's to make the most of the event. Throw on ya swimmers, light up some sparklers and lets get a party going at the beach people! ^_^
Instead of fate parties, I'm now looking for actual parties :P (which will probably end in a bunch of drunks... in swimsuits... with sparklers... charging at the Lupus (sorry, 'not' Lupus) fate)
Yet it'd be fun times all 'round. Would make for good screen captures too. -
