Relic Weapons and level cap increase?

So when the level cap increase eventually happens will Relic Weapons be made obsolete or will they continue to upgrade them?

Only reason I ask is that if they keep letting you upgrade them as the cap increases surely it will make all weapons after level 50 redundant if you can just keep upgrading it as what would the point be in using anything else if Relic remains top tier.

+2, +3, +4,.....

My guess is there will be quests to upgrade them further. Also note that you already have other ILV90 weapons in the game (same attack power and main stats, diferent other stats like parry or acc) so relics aren't the only best weapons in the game. In addtion to that, they did mention some kind of legendary weapon system where we'll get to see the "best" FF weapons like Excalibur, Gungnir, Aegis shield (yes I know, it's not a weapon) and so on.

Then the glow can grow bigger and change into other colors and eventually we have a Flyff version of FFXIV.

Yeah but like I said once you get to 50 if they allow them to be upgraded then surely anyone with half a brain would just start doing there relic and keep upgrading it all the way to Level 99 or whatever the final cap would be.

from what I've seen the allagan weapons have the same damage and primary stats and better secondary stats than the relic+1 and they already exist in game.

I suppose a relic line might be the parallel to the raiding line of gears and just keep getting +1 +2 +3 etc

Upgrading them would be dumb. Some may find it cool but I want to find legendary blades like excalibur and ragnorok, and also some awesome spears like gungnir and holy lance. I don't want Curtana and Gae bolg the rest of my days. As cool as they look I would get super bored with the same weapon model for the rest of the game, doesn't matter how many particles they put around it.

They should be obsoleted eventually. These are not really "relics" anyways. I don't consider an easily obtainable weapon a relic.

A Mythic Weapon from XI is a damn relic. I could never have even dreamed of obtaining such a thing.

They can make a new questline for it. We would probably have to kill shiva, leviathan, ramuh,, mogle mog, siren and gilgamesh and others to obtain it. youll probably need up to date weapons.from the previous encounter to kill the next in line anyway. (need shiva gear to kill leviathan etc)

Well they might just keep upgrading the relic weapons and just add new weapon models we can use in the vanity slot, so holy lance/longinus looks and gae bolg stats for example.

I hope that at some point we thede the +1 or +2 and change to a mythic with other name, just imagine Thyrus +99 hurts my brain.

Most likely you will have a new relic quest, but the old relic +1 will be a required item to start the new relic quest. They'll likely also have a system where you can do the same thing with AF2 and or Darklight Armor. I envision a new Revenant's Toll like zone where you can turn in DL gear for a new form of currency (which the new dungeons will likely also drop).

I actually would love them to introduce Vanity Relic weapon skins. That way people can upgrade their relic and still keep the nonglowing version or if they're looking for a different colored theme one they can get it from Vanity Relic weapon skin.

I say different color because, for example, dragoon AF1 into AF2 changes their armor color from purple into Azure but the Relic is still Purple color but now glowing in +1 version. It feels a bit out of place.

i think we will see new weapon appear, it's like the legendary weapon in other game, passed a certain time they are obsolete...
the weapon used for beat titan and other will be too weak for face the more dangerous enemy that we will face later.

the relic will still stay the best weapon for sometimes... but i think they will move on and introduce new weapon more powerfull later.

I would really like to see certain highly desirable and unique weapons and armors that can only be created via gathering and crafting. Something that would require rare and/or high level materials to create, maybe even materia gained from other pieces of high end equipment or the equipment itself could act as one of the required pieces of crafting material. This would give the opportunity to incorporate materia and HQ stat boosts on an already stacked piece of equipment. I hope such a thing is already in the works, because truth be told, I really don't like the look of the darklight set. I want more robust options for the late stages of the game.

Essentially, I want being a level 50 in any craft class to mean something.
