[Suggestion] Allow players to save set abilities and actions for each weapon.

Hello,

Please consider allowing players to customize and save equipped abilities for each weapon. I would greatly appreciate the convenience of changing weapons/class and having my previously set abilities for that specific class loaded up for me.

I am not asking for reset of cooldown timers on abilities, I am not asking for anything that can in any way be advantageous to the player other than simply alleviating the chore that is setting abilities every time I change between classes that greatly differ in rank and play style.

This system is very much similar to how BlueMage worked in FFXI, and I would have expected improvements based on your previous experience but I was disappointed to see something so simple was overlooked.

I can recall that the developers have already stated, abilities and actions will be saved for each class upon switching.
I would expect this update in the 1.18 patch, or possibly early 1.19

I find macros work pretty well. Take the time to do em, they are worth it.

Like shots said, just make some macros for now, it doesnt take that long to set them up.

Example: /eaction 2 "Raging Strike"

you can fit about 10-12 (not sure how many lines there are) action equips on each macro and it saves a ton of time.

Macros are a crutch that allows you to hobble a little faster.
And sometimes doesn't even work properly.
I don't want a crutch.
I want a sportscar.

Yea macros are really strange in this game...they cancel upon moving to different "areas" and are unbelievably slow...you can almost do it faster manually if all the abilities you want are under same class...I dont know why the macros execute so slowly compared to XIs..

The macro system is barely adequate. It can be much MUCH improved on.

Macros may work, but thats not the answer.

Macros are pretty awful, it takes way to long to change my actions and gear using macros, it should be instant when you change class.

No, they are not. Atm i have 4 macro's per job to change gear and the 2, not even 3, main hotbars. This is subpar. Now if the macro would be 60 lines and were instant so you can have 1 per job then maybe they would be worth it.

Saved hotbar and gearsets pls. Let us save our macro's for other things.

Changing to a completely different class should incorporate all of the following:

1. Switch my class to desired class.
2. Switch my equipment loadout for the new class.
3. Switch my abilities/spell loadout for the new class.
4. Reorganize my widgets if I use a different setup on the new class.
5. Take 3 seconds.

^ Do it right or don't do it at all.

I think changing widgets is a bit too much, There is no need to do that as widgets has nothing to do with a class and that information should be stored elsewhere in the database.

Although changing equipment would be good, its not nesassary, as you may not have all gear on you all the time when changing class, gear change can be done in a macro imo

; - ; I would say I want to be able to save point allotment too, but I don't know if those will still be there by the time a patch to save this information on a class to class basis would be released.

I spent the better part of an hour today making macros to switch between my most used classes.. to change action bars, equipment, etc. When I finally went to test them, I was devastated that there seems to be a /wait 1 in between each and every command. I agree with the above comment about being able to change my abilities more quickly manually, especially since I've become accustomed to doing it that way already before I tried macros.

Having saved action bars would be excellent. I know it may not belong here but being able to remove or at least more easily move/manipulate the "basic ability" of each weapon would be great. It's really a task getting it out of the way sometimes.

I approve of the idea, but lets use the search functions, and try to keep these discussions in one thread per topic :)

Specifically the Dev Tracker that states this function is on it's way.
