So why is this game infested with immature players running around with toons, both male and female, in their underwear? I thought this game had a minimum age of 16, not 12.
And no, "avoiding gear damage" is NOT a reason.

Considering you get out of your diapers as early as 2 years old, I don't see what you're getting at. The only immaturity I found so far outside of Duty Finder is when people say certain attitudes were carried over from FFXI. So considering who this MMO was made for, it's expected to find a lot of immature people, that's just the state of online gaming today.
AVATAR/CHARACTER
What? You thought people would stop going at it for some skin after 21?
Besides, it is Final Fantasy and an MMO. That tends to attract a certain crowd. That and we all just got skimpy swimsuits from the summer event.
Now the behavior in duty finder, that's a whole other story.
I thought this was about player attitude but it was about underwear instead.
Some of us just like to feel the breeze. Is that so wrong? Maybe you should try it sometime. It's very freeing.
yeah why are there people trying to have fun in my game? this is absurd! Next thing you know there will be some FCs with stupid names like.. Striped Panties or Lewd Murmurs...
Everyone knows this is a MLG only game, having any other kind of attitude besides being super serious and HARDCORE is stupid...
we also know that out there, in the "real world" no one shows skin around after being 12 when we stop being naked after passing the preadolescence ritual. This game is totally unrealistic.
Imagine the scandal if this happens but... right around the corner there could be a update to be able to walk around in SWIMSUITS! and not the good kind that covers everything from the elbow to the ankles leaving only the feet, hands and head out...
The irony in this thread is too damn high!

I can't tell anymore if someone's being very serious or seriously ridiculous.
I'll bite though, there are far FAR more worst behavior in this game than something as silly as players running around in their undies.
When performing mass-synthesis in crafting, it very rapidly degrades the state of your gear; yet from my experimentation, your gear has little to no bearing on the outcome of mass syntheses - so it behooves you to do it in the nude to save repair costs when doing very large mass-synths.
That's one reason at least you see naked people at a workbench hammering stuff out.
Underwear is offensive.
I'm offended.
Something I find interesting (vaguely on topic): Miqo'te females are 'forced' to dress in a sexier way. Example: my WHM is not well-geared yet. I'm a SMN main. So, my WHM has a Strategos body (AK drop) and AF pants. For miqo'te females, these 'pants' are actually underwear... which is okay when you are wearing a long robe like the AF robe, but not when you are wearing a short robe like the Strategos one. Now, you could say... "You chose this when you chose to play miqo'te." You're right. I did. So here's where I get confused -- The unicorn mount. Miqo'te females ride it like they ride anything else -- straddling it, hands forward, etc. Other female races (or at least humans -- that's all I've seen) ride it side-saddle in a distinctly 'feminine' fashion. So, in some instances... miqo'te are pushed onto us as 'more' feminine, but in other instances, they aren't.

Go to the oasis in southern tanalorn and you know what the game designer thinks, MQ should behave like..
You said "toons".
Immaturity came with ps3 and WoW players.
My swimsuit has less on it than my naked underwear model.
I guess that means you're playing an immature game, which makes you immature like the rest of us.
swimsuits are the reward for an event right now...
some people will complain about anything, i swear to god. lock yourself indoors and shut your eyes if you are so easily offended.
It is rated Teen = suitable for ages 13 and over, but I don't know why people in underwear would bother anyone in open world. If it was in a dungeon and affected the group that would be different. I've met some very mature 13 yr olds and some very immature 'grown ups' though.
I run around in my underwear because I just started playing this game and I just unlocked other classes. I don't have the money nor desire to immediately find clothing since I could just unlock it through quests or level up and buy it off a vendor. I think that even if it were a preference I had I don't think it affects you in and real meaningful manner.
I for one would prefer to always laugh at a cheesey cheap joke and act a little immature than to be so "mature" that some avatar on a video game's lack of clothing is bothersome enough that I make a thread about it.
