While its true that in the level 20 levequest you're using more items for less experience and gil (per item traded in), leve allowances are a more valuable commodity than Aldgoat skins and alumen (which you can get easily for free).
1 leve allowance for 19k exp + 798 gil or 1 leve allowance for 45k exp + 2232 gil. Its clear that the level 20 levequest is better.
The 20 1 is way better esp if you wanna use leve's for multiple crafts you need to save as many as you can tbh.
No. The level 20, if you turn it three times, you get 15219 XP for one leve allowance, while the level 15 can only be done once and gives you only 6341 XP for one leve allowance. (triple both figures if you turn in HQ) You only get six leve allowances a day, and a lot of people grinding XP are looking to conserve them. For those people, the 20 is the better deal.
There are a bunch of craft quests like this, really nice for them to have 3x turn-in on 1 leve allowance.
Where can you tell that it lets you turn in the level 20 leve three times as one allowance??
Honestly I have a lot of leves saved up because I haven't needed to really use them to level anything but miner and grand company stuff. He showed a full screen of that leve information and it doesn't say anywhere on there that you can turn those 5 pieces of leather in 3 times on the same leve. Is there any way to know from reading the description?
In regards to his real question, about why the reward is higher for the level 15 quest, I think it's because in the level 20 quest you give your leather to Maisenta. She is located right in Gridania, less than a full sprint away from where you most likely accepted that levequest. The level 15 one is turned in to an NPC located in a different town in the Shroud. I think they compensate you better for having to travel. That's what I've noticed anyway.
It doesn't tell you that you can turn it in 3 times, you just find out by doing the leves. I kind of enjoy the fact that it's a surprise instead of "THIS ONE HERE GIVES YOU 3X THE EXP!" I happened on one in Costa Del Sol for GSM L30. It's just something really nice to get unexpectedly, and yes if it lets you turn in 3x on 1 leve allowance the first time it -always- will. I turned in that GSM one about 10 times, maybe more.
However, after a while you will notice that any tradecraft leve that asks for 5 stackable items, or 3 unstackable items can be repeated two times for one leve allowance, for a total of 3 turn-ins. Once you turn in the first, the client asks if you would like more work, and requests the same thing two more times. All you have to do is say "yes" if you have the items on you, or "decide later" if you need to make more. I recommend having the stuff ready, as you get more exp for the actual crafting if you are lower level.
its all perspective, if you play all the time and have no leve allowance then doing the triple turn in is better, but if you don't use much then the single turn in for more xp is better.
If you look at the screenshot, the lvl 15 is a triple turn-in which means you get 3*6,341 XP, now, my maths may be a bit rusty but 3*6,341 = 19,023 > 15,219. (leve's which require 3 or more items are triple turn ins)
Unless the BDSM leve's are different from the armour one in which case BDSM sucks.
And one more thing...
The level 15 replaces the Aldgoat Skins you used to make the leathers. The level 20 replaces the Wind Shards you used. I know which I'd rather have...
