Why Can't I play

I still cannot use my "Start" option on the first menu of the game after I input my password. I have received error 2002 since day one of early access. My first free month is almost up and I still can't play. Somebody help. -.-

But this has been happening since day one? How long ago was that?

the game came out on the 27ths of august and early access was opened two days before that so the 25th of august. I could play the beta perfectly fine but as soon as I got the actual game i just couldn't press the start option

EDIT* iI was looking at the servers and I didn't even see Marlboro or whatever it was . Does it not exist and could this be why I can't play? because my server isn't even in existence any more?

EDIT* NVM found it. But I still can't even make it to my character or server screen due to the fact tht my "START" option is greyed out so I can't even choose it.

Sucks that yo haven't resolved this already, there were a bunch of posts up during EA with this problem, including myself but we got it handled pretty quick during EA.

The fix for me and most of the others was to change the firewall settings on the modem/router. Not your OS firewall but the actual modem/router. Try starting with low security settings then working your way up. I had to do a custom setting but a friend of mine just put his on low. I'm sure there are some port forwarding that could be done instead of lowering the firewall settings but I don't know what those are.

This solved the 2002 error and gray start button issue for me and a lot of people I know.

I also had this problem since early access, and to this day I cannot get past the start screen if I attempt it with my regular network.

The way I get around it is to connect using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). The service I use isn't free ($6.95 a month), but it works. There are many services to choose from.

Grey or unaccessible start button means there's a problem connecting to the game's lobby server. I do not know what IP address this is on, or how you would go about testing it however I would suggest speaking to customer support about ensuring or finding a way to connect if you cannot sort firewall or router adjustments on your own.

I have the same issue when I try to log on somewhere thats not my home network. The network Im trying to connect to is a public network in an office building. I can play Diablo 3 and TERA but FF14 wont let me connect, I get error 2002 and it boots me out. I have no way to reset the router so what would my next step be?

I would like to try the whole firewall testing and what not but I am currently residing at my crazy grandmas house and she won't let me touch her firewall because she thinks she will immediately get hacked -.-
