Thanks alot for posting this. Do you have any idea how many trolls you are letting know that they can do this but were too dumb to think of it themselves?

What I learned yesterday is do not use duty finder after about 3pm cst (4 est). Thats when all the kids get out of school. I had an off day and spent the morning farming CM with zero issues. After 3pm forget it. Every run either had an afk'er or a troll.

Lol this sucks. Did you guys leave after I left?

If something like 4/5 Castrum seems to good to be true, turns out it is.

I left around the 23 minute mark

Run with people on your server and blist anyone on your server that does this to you.

The mobs could have attacked him really. Poor AI to its best.

Fey you are giving the mobs too much credit, this is FFXIV, bosses stand there and wait for you to show hostility before engaging you lol.

What an a-hole. Hopefully kids like this guy disappear as soon as their free month is up!

That technically isn't possible. The 15 second lockout timer doesn't start until an enemy is engaged.

Good. I hope everyone starts doing this so we can have a kick feature implemented.

This what I think happened. The guy followed the original group into the encounter but just went afk standing there. They engaged her and died because of failing and/or having to 7 man the encounter. Because he was in the back he never added himself to the threat table, group wipes, encounter resets but since he was still in the area it never opened back up. Prick move for sure I can't wait till we have measures to deal with these horrible people.

I do actually find that pretty funny. But it's pretty ridiculous that there isn't a kick or even a vote to kick feature in groups for instances like this.

1 How was the boss aggro without the person inside getting attacked
2 that add doesn't pop up until she is at about 25%
This was most likely a bug and not at all the players fault.

he isnt the first person to do this

someone did this to my party too.

I kinda like the Honor/Tribunal system in LoL. It helps weed out toxic players from queuing up with people. They will be adding in a MVP voting system soon where the MVP of a dungeon will get a bonus. I hope this will help encourage people to preform well for the bonus instead of being a dick cause they can get away with it. We shall see.

I had this response too when I encountered an AFKer in a dungeon and reported it. They did at least say that they would investigate, but the official stance on it was more or less exactly what you said.

It was clearly a conscious decision on S-E's part not to implement a kick functionality, which frankly speaking, is ridiculous. It's fine if they don't want to encourage bullying; I get that. But that official response clearly shows they don't care in the least about what would be legitimate uses of kick functionality either.

Looks like just another normal CM run to me.

Problem is the guy has been standing there for tens of minutes, if you look at screen shot one and the screen shot underneath it, you'll see that the person has been standing there forever. So you're saying it isn't the players fault for standing there doing nothing for tens of minutes, when they could die, respawn and resume the encounter?

I've gotten the same response. In-action does not fall under griefing, no matter how outrageous the consequence.

Not the whole party gets aggro, only the ones attacking or healing.

Going afk in an instance? That sucks. SE should tag them with an AFKER>>> icon for 48 hours.

I understand it's frustrating to see that scenario, but you came to the official forums and blasted this guys name out then followed up by giving server information and asking people to blacklist him, all because you didn't get to finish a quick dungeon that you didn't even participate in clearing? I'm confused on who the dick is here?

Wth? I didn't really get annoyed at that one dungeon especially because I entered 4/5 but I can't imagine how mad the people who were there from the beginning got.
What did I do wrong here? Just trying to get attention for a afk kick feature so this doesn't keep happening.

Someone else posted the latter, as to the former, it's the player saying "this is why we need a Vote-Kick system." It's fair in my opinion, granted the player in the screenshot is being a good example (that isn't hypothetical) as to why there should be some form of vote-to-kick so they don't have to be put up within a group that doesn't wish to put up with it.

I didn't specify any names. I just don't understand why this guys name, screen and everything got blasted out here, then followed with a link to his lodestone profile with calls to blist him. I am not certain, but I seem to remember running castrum with someone afk the whole time. He was never d/c'd. I bring this up because, hypothetically, what if one of his kids got hurt and he had to take them to the hospital? Now he might have to contend with people blacklisting him over this post. I understand people can troll but I try to take the long view and give people the benefit of the doubt.

and ? whats the problem with exposing this guy? if he didnt want to be exposed , he better dont troll the DF players like that.

Players need to learn that this things have consequences, if no1 does anything about it ,more ppl will do it.

Since SE doesnt care , i guess the only thing we can do is that , expose players that troll the DF so we can avoid them like the plague. and blacklist if they are on our own server.

I don't consider a df castum run controversy. I don't consider not having a kick feature controversy. A kick feature will be abused, no doubt about it. I am also not crying about anything. What proof do you have that he is a troll? I don't see any him saying thing in party. If an emergency came up and he had to leave suddenly would you feel differently?

and if u have an emergency , just say so and leave the party, or turn game off

if u dont have time to do that , and went afk , u are going to get kicked after 30 mins , how long have been this guy in the dungeon waiting while trolling the ppl that joins? look at the screenshot timers , more than 30 mins. (plus the battle before the 7 ppl joind and traveled to the boss ....) we dont know how long he have been afk , we know for sure that was more than 30 mins.

he is probably laughing his *** off , while the other 7 got wiped and couldnt reenter the boss ,and all left . Another 7 players join , go to the last boss and find that.

I know, I know, but at least they should terminate properly the encounter incase the battle fails. Thus the player who was inside the boss' "ring" should be dead.
