As the title suggests in a comic form, there is no "punch" to attacks. They don't have any weight to them or power(the feel of power behind them). I'm not talking about numbers just how they feel. Am I the only one?

Clearly you've never done a haymaker as a pug/mnk
Are you plugging your brain into the game? Otherwise you wouldnever feel attacks....
I cross-class Haymaker from PUG on my BARD and that feels like you are hitting them the way the animation is done...I like it....I punch you in the face sir monster and slow you down...LOL it is even complete with gold rings around the monster like they just got jacked up>>>!!!!!!!

So for people like Ehllfhire here, what the OP means compared to 1.0, animation lock aside, there was a weight to the attacks, even in FFXI attacks felt like they were doing something, like they were actually your character landing blows - in ARR, Yoshida mentioned they purposefully got rid of the "weight" to attack animations to compliment the speed of the battle system. ARR's animations feel "weightless" in sound and execution at times, just compare:

So while animations are much faster, they don't have a "weight" to them.

Another video.
No place for such a thing as good looking animations in a standard MMO! What do you think this is, a Final Fantasy game!? No! This is a post WoW MMO, get with the times!
*sigh* You know, it's funny how some of us who've been criticizing this sort of stuff even as far back as when the very first gameplay video of ARR was released were just marked as "nay-sayers", "trolls" and who knows what else for calling out this kind of stuff (biggest example being Rokien who, ironically, ended up being right on every single thing he said after all), but now, after the game's been launched in this state, pretty much every single thing that we criticized is starting to resurface, and even some of those people that kept calling us "nay-sayers" trolls have been calling out some of the unnecessary changes or downgrades the game's had.
Man, I wonder where this game would be right now if it weren't for the insane amount of white knights we had on the alpha and beta...
when I play my pug I even think 'pow pow pow pow POW'
The "white knights" as you call it, didn't "defend SE" when this decision was made. That was your imagination. The white knights said "This is what you guys asked for. This is what people wanted." Rokien was right a lot because he complained about EVERYTHING. He also complained at how slow the game was and how much high spec the computer has to be to play the game. We didn't like Rokien because he would complain about how slow things are in 1.0 and then complained about how animation didn't have weight. For f*ck's sake, he complained about grass. He was also a stanch supporter of game devs listening to fans as well as not listening to game fans because they didn't know what they were talking about. When you take both sides of the same argument, you're going to look like you're winning no matter what you do...
I agree, there are very few actions that have weight to it. Disembowl being one of them. But that was done to lower pc spec requirements because *that's what the gamers wanted*.
Seriously... sometimes with all the complaining that happens here, I think we should have just stuck to patching 1.0.
Blame this new gen who think even a 2.5 seconds is too long and they need more action (which all the action games dont last...so im not even sure what they want anymore). if their ADD brains arent smashing buttons they dont like it.
Good lord i miss the old 1.0 and where it was going...and the old FFXI days, never gonna see something with actual depth to it for a long time until devs realize WoW success isnt gonna happen again.
Actually, I never recalled Rokien complaining about grass or the speed of combat, I believe he either wants it pure action or not action at all(one of the extremes also has stated many times he liked 1.0s combat, just need reworked). He also made a big thread saying how the 2.0 graphics/animations were terrible, not 1.0s. His biggest complaints that I saw, were Quest based system, lack of an open world, instanced content. Everything else was second.

I can't really say i agree. Even on SMN/SCH, I feel like my actions have "punch." The animations for casting/attacking are snappy and feel like there is effort behind them. And this is on a CASTER. I don't really think there's much of an issue here. It may vary some with the class though.
1.0 animations took forever to execute, with the increased battle speed have fun being dead while your amazingly animated slo-mo weaponskill finishes executing while you are standing in an AoE.
Stone 2 feels powerfull and some other spells, but melee is mostly lacking I think. Even arrows don't seem to do much, even that cool lance arrow ability, it's very pretty but it doesn't feel powerful.
The weapons felt like they had weight in 1.0. Even still, you didn't die because they took forever, that's what the battle pace was. Now it feels like I'm using weapons made of cardboard.
