2.1, new primals and SMN

i was just wondering, if anyone knows, or a MOD/DEV may answer my question.

will the new primal Fights unlock said primals new Egis?,
if so how will it work, so far there is 3 types of summons and as you progress with SMN you replace Emerald carby and topaz carby for Titan and garuda,
but after that there are no more skills listed to replace with new Egis.

are we getting new skills like Summon IV summon V ect ect..

or, we unlock egis and then have to choose 3 from a EGI list one for caster one for meele and one tank?

summon I { can be garuda [ ]
{ can be Ramuh[o]...

Summon II { can be Titan
{ can be Shiva [o]

summon III { can be ifrit [o]
{ can be leviathan [ ]...

or.. and this is what i hope not..
we get new Egis in the future with Level cap raise?

When asked about different egis before, Yoshi said it would happen possibly when the level cap increases.

fire, wind and earth atm, for the basic elements we need water so Leviathan will be the next egi (theorycrafting :P). Sounds logical

water is not the basic element in final fantasy series, it's ice

IIRC, the elemental wheel for FFXI was Earth > Thunder > Water > Fire > Ice > Wind > Earth

But I do prefer Shiva too lol

i see..
i didn't play XI but i did play many other console FFs
the first 3 spells we'll get in almost every single FF games are : Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder

water is in 1.0 too until the jobs come and class skill reform, water got remove and now we have water again in 2.0 :D

i tough it would me in the lines of FFXI where a summoner would be able to have all avatars by fighting them and winning.

Wouldn't mind a defensive support (Shiva), offensive support (Ramuh) and healing support (Leviathan).
Then Fenrir as a mount ala unicorn.
I'd also like to see a little more feedback on the egi's signature move since, other than a cool down triggering, I can never tell if it's going off. It would be neat if, when they used their signature move, a transparent version of the primal they represent appears over them to cast the spell.

I totally agree with those summons. I love Leviathan, Shiva and Ramuh as main summons as well. I suggest all classes/jobs get 1 new spell or ability so they happy when we get our new summon egis.

I say fix the current pets before adding more.

New Primal will arrive in Patch 2.2 with the continuation of the storyline.

Patch 2.1

Good King Moogle Mog will returning as a boss fight. More than likely he will be accessible through the duty finder. Please look forward to it.

A new difficulty for Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan fights will be added in this patch as well. They haven’t quite decided if they’ll call them hard, super, ultra, extreme, or any other awesome intense name. I can see it now. “Ifrit, for real this time”.
Two hard level dungeons and the Crystal Tower, a 24-man raid dungeon, will be added.

Also new Hildibrand quests and FATEs are being added. If you didn’t know, Hildibrand was a comic relief NPC from version 1.0. He has his own… unique sense of humor.

The Wolves Den, a 4v4 and 8v8 arena will be opening in this patch. You can travel to it by boat from Lower La Noscea, and to enter the arena you must use the Duty Finder.

And lastly, Mists, the La Noscea player housing region will be unlocked in 2.1. Houses are available to Free Companies and individual players for a monetary value.

Patch 2.2

New Primal fights will be introduced. Yoshida stated that they will be “ones that new players haven’t even imagined.”

Either Leviathan, Shiva or Ramuh will be in 2.2. It has yet to be revealed which one, but they all seem like fun fights and fun stories to flesh out!

Gilgamesh might make an appearance as a boss fight in either 2.2 or 2.3.

It is possible that Free Companies will have the ability to summon their own Primal (FATE?) battles in this patch. No concrete details have been announced though. If not 2.2 then possibly 2.3.

And Beyond!

Patch 2.3 is the target release for the Golden Saucer! The reason they haven’t revealed much about it is because they are currently busy working on it. They are hoping to have at least 3 mini games available before they release it into the game. Yoshida says perhaps a card game, a mini game, or a snowboarding game. I’d love to snowboard down Coerthas with my Lalafell!

It has also been confirmed that the first draft of the first expansion has been submitted! Obviously there is a lot of work to be done, but at least they are planning for the future!

please read beyond title. i know new primals will arrive. my question is if SMN will be able to use thoes primals egis after defeating them much like now with garuda titan and ifrit.

and if so how would it be implemented since the way it is now a egi replaces the other summon depending on the type of support they give (meelee,caster,tank)

Honestly before they even release more they really need to revamp the class because its nothing like a SMN from the FF series and more like a Warlock from WoW.

I hope Scholars get Leviathan. I bet he could heal if he really wanted to =)

They would have to add some pretty cool stuff to other classes along with new summons.
