Yeah, no it doesn't.

I have like 55 leve's available and have more every time I log in.

When SE makes it worth the time and effort to do them over the other faster/more efficient leveling options, I might use them.

Honestly they could fix the leves by just seperating your allowance by category. So you would get 3 tradecraft leves, 3 battlecraft, and 3 gathering leves every 12 hours now that would be great.

i have 99 of these allowances I never use them there not rewording DX the only thing there goof or I here, is there handy for leveling crafting thats about it.

I don't think the idea is bad, and I'd rather see an increase to the amount of leves gained per 12h rather than experience increased. 3/3/3 would fix this, and it also makes sense, although something like 3 "normal leves" and 1 leve of each disciple per 12h would be a better way to do it. Disciple-specific leves could stack up to only 30. Then again I don't really care that much.

Point is, don't peck on other peoples suggestion, even if you think they're "retarded". You'll only make a fool out of yourself.

I think i have all of them available atm, i was thinking of using them to lvl gld and acn up to 15 but I keep reading I should save them.

If i use them to lvl those two classes, and go from say 99 down to 50, do I start building them back up every 3 hours again? Will it eventually go back up to 99?

Also do they payout more gil then normal quests?

To be honest even for levelling combat classes, I quite like them and I don't think they're as bad as people say. I use them relatively frequently, netting a bunch of EXP every time and having a variety of objectives to complete. Places like Whitebrim are great for it, or the Observatorium if your level is lower. Sometimes when I'm just playing the game casually, chatting to people who are in different areas or sometimes even playing different games over a headset, it's nice to do Levequests. Having them give more EXP would make them too good I think, so I'd be more in favour of increasing allowances. It was 4/12 hours in 1.0, right? Even that would be a start.

Even now though, they're still more fun than laggy Coerthas FATE grinding.

They pay okay gil, nothing really helps the gil flow.

They build at the same rate they did before, 3 every 12 hours. Up to your maximum again.

People say to save them mostly because they are best for gathering and crafting. They are horrible for combat classes. it's really up to you if you want to do them for those, but you will get bad xp for the effort. They are great for gathering and crafting since you can turn in HQ items and basically get 3x the xp for it, three times. Those sometimes let you turn in extra items, and when you turn in HQ, it's a LOT more than normal, and some let you turn in even more a couple times, giving you even more. You can easily get a level or two doing a couple of those if you plan them right.

I can't even understand why there is a limit on how many Leve's we can do, 3 every 12 hours is FAR to few if you want to do them on a regular basis.

There are only two reasons I can think for this limitation, either they don't want people power levelling... or they want to prevent "addictive" behavior.

Neither of these are things that SE should be involved in controlling by limiting the player's options, people who power level will FIND ways, and this limits legitimate players. People who grind Leve's at cost of their own life are not a problem game devs should be considering, as it's not their problem.

It's somewhat of a hold-over from Version 1. In other games, people just spam the jobs/quests that make the most gold, or tradeable items. You can't do that here, and by design I think this is appropriate.

As for addictive behavior, no while that is a problem with Asian gamers, and some American gamers, what they should be doing is imposing a soft-cutoff time so that the player has diminishing returns for playing more than 8 consecutive hours in a day. The rested bonus is one of them, The leves are another. The Duty Finder queue is unintentionally a third. (Guildhests are more profitable in money, but you don't get any loot from them.)

BTW people have died from playing games too much.

I've never understood the arguement that some people will get more out of it than others, so it should be restricted. I'm what you might call a "casual" player, I almost always occupy that that section of the player base that doesn't do much high level content or get much currency, etc. But I don't care if other people DO have way more than I do, I just want to have the freedom to choose what I do, when I do it, for as long as I wish.

What issue is it if some people spam them, how does it negatively effect the gameplay of others?

People have died of doing (insert activity) to much, to the extent that they ignored they own well being. This is not a feature of gaming be available as much as they wish, but rather their own mental health issues that caused them to seek escape into a game, or otherwise focus on it to an unhealthy degree.

This is not the concern of developers, publishers, or indeed other players with the exception of those who know people who are suffering from the above issues. It is the family and friends of those people, both online and off, who should be looking out for them. While I totally recognize this as a problem, I don't see it as something that should incur ANY action from the developers that in any way limit the vast majority of the player base who are able to manage their own lives.

Quite frankly, if I want to sit here and do Leve's all day on my day off, that's my choice, and there's no reason for me not to be able too.

IIRC, the 'addiction penalty' (an EXP cap) was included in the original 1.0 release. You'd accrue slightly less EXP for every hour or so you played, until it was debilitating. I remember the trigger was set stupidly high though, so the vast majority of players never reached it.

Did that actually happen or have I made that up? I'm sure that was a thing.

i was trying to make sense of what you typed but it's almost impossible. That sentence structure though.


Though you do not use them alot of people do use them, i for example use them to level crafting and to get extra GC currency. I always seem to run out of allowances. I agree with Tyvek as in it should be 3 for each type of leve.

I sort of understand the reason why there are 'allowances' for leves.

But it is sort of sad when these allowances restrict a player's ability to play the game they want to play.

Right now, I have enough mats to get BSM and ARM to 45 (from 30) at the same time using triple-leves. But I used up all my allowances and I'm stuck for another 12 hours before turning in another 27 items that will take me through the better part of ONE level in ONE class.

So instead of taking the alternative route which is fate-farming to 50, then speed running through AK 50 times to get full Darklight. It seems very limiting to players such as myself who want to sell themselves as a productive and self-sustaining when the times comes when I choose to tackle the endgame.

Why should I be punished for taking a more productive route in achieving my goals in the game?

The idea is for balance. One path has certain advantages while the other has different advantages. FATES and dungeon grinding may be faster but crafting has more long-term utility. If one was fast and had long-term utility, that would be the primary option utilized.

I rather spend all leves on a single job instead of getting less leves on each class. I don't like the idea either.

Three every twelve sounds very restrictive.

I would like to see the maximum amount of leves replenished in five days, so players could spend them during the weekend. If the maximum leves we can have is a hundred, then this would imply we should be getting ten leves every twelve hours.

Well, at least a player can not buy a bunch of RMT gil and insta lvl a few crafts with tripple leve turn ins..Working as intended..

You are so correct. The word he was looking for was "remedial" .. Adding more instant crafting/gathering xp would be down right remedial.
