Are people at banemites actually people?

The reaction time is almost immediate. Can you get that good? I'm just wondering, cause if yes, the dedication put into it is admirable, to be able to stand there for hours and only kill one monster (yes, one, not even running around to kill the others)

I dont know what mob it is yet :( Soon I'll understand lol but sounds strange e.e

A friend of mine likes to sit at banemites for hours. He gets really rich. He also mentioned there might have been some robotic players out there.

the spawn places are kinda always the same and the spawn interval is very reliable. Try farming them for 10 minutes and you'll see.

This. It's not particularly hard once you know the patterns.

You have no bloody idea how glad I am to be out of the Diremite web phase of Weaver now.

I've certainly seen bots at the banemites, but there's also being farmed to by very real players too for very real reasons.

Honestly the devs need to add more mob spawn locations for certain key craft materials (ie. boar hide, diremite web, toad hide) because right now supply cannot come close to demand with so few spawn locations. I personally got super lucky/savvy, in that on balmund someone was selling a stack of 99 dew thread for like 1/3 the going price (No doubt a hold-over from a legacy character), but nobody was buying it because they didn't want 45,000g worth of thread.

So I dropped the 45,000g on it, and sold off 1/3 the stack for the going rate (effectively covering the cost of buying it) leaving me with 2/3 of a stack of dew web with which to fill my velveteen/dew thread needs essentially for free :D

Just wait till you get to fleece :D

I'm there now and prematurely crying before I've even really dug into them. I'm trying to stay on Flax as long as I can to level, beyond the obvious filling my crafting log, because at least with Flax I can gather my own ingredients with Botany without competition.

i did the same thing with toads. once you know the spawn locations and patterns it's easy to farm them for hours.

Have you seen the countless other bots running? This one wouldn't be out of reach.. the spawns are very predictable.

You can level to 50 Weaver with Flax and Linnen alone, Electrum ingots are cheap and if you can HQ the Linnen wedge cap of gathering you can actually make a tidy profit if you farmed the linnen yourself.

HQ turn in = 100k exp, best lev to go with bar none even at higher levels it's just downright more affordable to keep HQing Linnen wedgecaps of Gathering

there are bots farming banemites , 1 has been there for days killing the 2 that spawn ....

Incorrect.

I spent about an hour farming them for the webs for weaver, though in that hour I pretty much learned when and where they would spawn and in what order, so I could have almost-immediate reactions to when it'd happen. There might be bots, but it's possible to have quick reaction times with them, too.

I've heard you can tell if they're botting by opening up a trade with them while they have aggro...

they are bots that have been reported yet SE doesnt give a flying fuck. let them claim a few mobs then open trade window and watch as the mites beat them to death.

I didn't know that about a trade window. Yea, there's always a bard out there next to the two that spawn back-to-back. I can tell he's a bot because if I stand right where they spawn, the diremites don't walk into his agro range, and he just stands there while I kill them. Also, thx for the heads up about linen leveling. I'm going to use that method.

Well, I was just told by a few friends that there were bots in that area, so I decided to come and have a look at it. Then I tried stuff, poking them.. Also tried bringing a dryad to their attack range, and strangely enough they attacked the dryad too. Tried it again with another monster, as long as anything comes to range they will attack it.. I have no idea even what those threads are used for (yet) but like I said in my first post, if they actually were people either they're that good or their dedication is admirable. To be able to even do it for one hour is already beyond me.

If you need the web, a better way to get it is through leves. Lv20(?) weaver leves grant anywhere from 10-30 web PER leve when they are available. I got many stacks this way.

Probably not. There's people blatantly botting almost all of the bottleneck NPCs.

I've just been doing the crafting leves for weaver (level 20 leves in adventurer's guild in ul'dah give diremite webs.) because I'm sick and tired of trying to fight people (and bots) for Banemites to farm webs.

Well, bot or not, I reported them cause it was very mind boggling.. I wasn't even competing with them because there's like 5 other diremites unclaimed but was just wondering why they didn't run around and if I pulled anything within their range, they will start attacking. Tried it with a Dryad (level 38 monster) and the level 25 archer hit it anyways. The aggro was on me..
