Hey I was wondering about this, can we change our retainer's outfits?
you used to be able too in 1.0 but you can't anymore.
Nobody else can see your retainer so I guess SE decided there's no point. I wouldn't mind if we could dress up our retainers and parade them around though.
I always thought it was really cool that we could set our retainers out in a little shop in 1.0. I liked the way my retainer looked back then and that I was able to decorate a little stand for her.
Hello!
While we can't offer any specific details, or make any promises, the development team is looking into making it possible to customize your retainers by changing their clothing and such. We'll be sure to let you know when there are any developments!
I love the retainers outfits! Customisation is always nice of course, but I doubt I'd change mine. I think they look well sharp!
Who can even see their retainer in amongst the sea of people crowding the bell?
Summon 'em in your inn room, I do it all the time. Faster.
To add to this: I hope it'll be possible to set up a retainer as a caretaker in your home. What's the point of customization and changing their clothes if only you as the player can see it? I want to make a big Roegadyn wearing a giant axe and heavy armor stand at my door and greet people who enter.
A stranger/guest enters the residence. "Welcome ta my master's home. Touch anythin' and I'll tear ye a new arse and then dine on yer innards." He then bows to them. "Enjoy yer stay lad/lass."
While they're busy making new Retainer outfits, would it be possible to re-position the Summoning Bell itself to be either suspended from the ceiling or at least mounted high on the wall (extending out would be a plus). Right now, with the bells being so low to the ground, people tend to stand right on top of it. I don't know if it's a graphics thing or people just being rude/inconsiderate, but sometimes, it's difficult to even target the bell :(.
If I had to choose between new duds and a re-positioned bell, I'd go with moving the bell, no question. I understand the outfits are important to many folks, but personally, I couldn't care less whether my Retainers are dressed to the nines or not, as long as they are doing their jobs. After all, I'm the only one who can see them.
I totally like this idea.
I also wish that my retainer could become a non combat pet that follows me around town when summoned, muttering funny things in chat bubbles like the background NPCs do.
While I don't miss the original market wards in 1.0 and the attending lag, I do miss dressing my retainer from 1.0 and other players being able to see him.
Sorry for those that this matters to, but really for me I could care less about my retainers clothing or their look. You only see them if all for a second and nobody else sees them. Usually when I run to them I am in a hurry and don't even look at them since there is so much to do. I care more about my characters ability to change out their look and needing more retainer and personal space to put things in since my character does every craft.
Just throwing some ideas :
- Make special retainer outfit craftable
- Make special retainer outfit craftable ** with "+ inventory slot" bonus (1 or 2 per piece on 5 piece (head, body, leggs, foot, hand))
Should add some retainer quests as well, would be nice to see them more often, see them have a life, have problems we can fix. Would be fun to see them with their different personalities beyond just the 2 lines they say
I want it to be possible for use to see retainer information from the menu or something. Not allow you to post items for sale or anything, but let you see a history of the sales you made, and perhaps the items they currently hold. In FF11, we could see all of our storage information no matter where you were, though you were unable to access them all in that manner. I would like to see what my retainer is selling and what it sold (and yes I know the info flash before you when something sells but what about when I'm not online and far from any city when I do get online).
