a few suggestions (some URGENT)

urgent first ,I think it would be kind of helpful if equipped items has some kind of marker when viewing in armory chest so that we know they are equipped at a glance,it's quite a pain in the posterior to sell/convert/junk an items that is currently equipped.

Now for the rest :P

triple triad/tetra master - I know lots of people who would totally love this to be a part of ffxiv,its fun addictive and would be a great addition to the game and the play experience in general,it is a world away from questing/leveling/crafting which are obviously staple of mmorpgs,this would mean xiv boasts something that most other mmorpgs do not have.

Battle themes/other bgm - why not rework some of the old epic battle themes from previous games? that would be awesome

Equipped items do not show up in the armory chest. It would be nice to quickly compare an item in your armory chest with what you currently have equipped in that slot though.

You can quickly compare by clicking on the one in the chest though...cannot see them at the same time so that sucks but it works.
My suggestion would be to give us some indication of what we have equipped on other classes so that I don't dump a bunch of gear on my retainer and then go to play with the class and I am missing stuff...I just cannot remember what I have on every single class...come on.

Yes that's how I do it now, but it's less than convenient. I'd much prefer it if it put a little window showing basic stats of what I have currently equipped in the slot when I hover my mouse over something in the armory chest.

And I totally agree on the other set gear indication. Ideally if you try to convert/move to inventory/sell a piece of gear it should give you a warning popup informing you that the gear is in another gear set.

I just don't see why equipped items have no marker to denote this...it would be even easier to implement than a warning box should you try to sell them,either way is good don't get me wrong,just saying this is a basic...it's not something we should have to push for.

I'm pretty sure you guys are all talking about the same thing for gear sets, haha. Items you have equipped currently won't show up in the armory chest, so I'm pretty sure OP meant items you have equipped on other classes. (Though I could be wrong)

I very much agree with these suggestions (Aside from the music) though! I would love to be able to play tetra master with other players, or even npcs. I think it would be really interesting to expand as a feature where you could buy sets of cards from an NPC, but get rare card from events and such. A simple feature that I think would add a nice bit of depth to the game. :3

The music, though, not so sure. I like that each game has it's own scores, and the music in ffxiv is beautifully done. Though it would be cool if it had it's own version of the old recurring battle theme that used to appear in each game. Not just reworks of another game's music though.

YES, this needs to happen ASAP. I can't believe this didn't occur to any of the devs as they designed the Armory System and Gear Sets. They even give you a little icon next to the gear set, if there is a piece of gear missing (unfortunately, this icon doesn't seem to appear until after you find out the hard way). Its pretty irresponsible, maybe even cruel, to not mark equipment that is currently included in a Gear Set -- especially since Armory Chest and Inventory space is very limited, and we're expected to level all classes on one character. As it is, it seems like they didn't comprehend the complexities of their own game systems. I have three different caster classes so far, two crafting, and two gathering, all at different levels. It's already a huge pain to manage relevant gear for all of them. My bag slots fill up constantly, and I don't want to accidentally sell or destroy something that I'll need later.

I'd like to see something like this. Either a card game or some similar side game with collectibles of some sort. Preferably something new, rather than a repeat of a previous thing.

They have done this already. Some fights use the battle theme from Final Fantasy II. It's likely the upcoming events starring Lightning from FFXIII will reference music as well. I'm betting more things to come will also use familiar music.

Suggestion: this site needs a pvp forum area.

really hoping dev team will get to this,I'm starting to rack up a horrible amount of gears and I have no idea which ones to throw :S

I usually get rid of old gear as soon as I replace it, so this isn't really a problem for me, but marking gear in other sets would be nice. It's a good idea.
