Apparently the JP Duty Finder service has crashed and there will soon be a 2 hour maintenance to fix it.
I got kicked from a duty when it crashed. I came to the forums. I looked around for some recognition of the problem. 30 minutes later, I was still looking around. Eventually I heard about the maintenance through the grapevine on my server.
After hearing the news, I came back to the forums and looked some more for details. As usual, no info about it. At least not in English on the English forums. Info about every NA/EU technical issue as it came up, but nothing about JP servers.
Dear SE, you have NA/EU players who have been stuck on JP servers since beta due to your service issues. We deserve updates too. Please start addressing us the way you do everyone else. Kthx.

09-16-2013, 11:02 PMRaymeo1.0 players are far from the only ones in this situation. Worlds filled up. People couldn't create characters on them. Their options were limited by service restrictions, and some were only eligible to join JP servers. Others had friends from 1.0 who didn't watch the FFXIV twitter during the game's several month hiatus for the ninja notice about transfers only being available in the middle of beta, months before launch. Those people had to choose between playing alone on NA servers, or playing with their friends on JP servers, assuming they were lucky enough to buy the game before sales were halted, and create their accounts before the rest of the masses filled everything up. Most of this is agreeable, however the "Ninja" update, C'mon, if you played 1.0 it was common knowledge you was going to be able to pick a server Around or before P4 of Beta began. I'm sorry if you missed the bazillion threads before 1.0 went down and the many interviews afterwards, but ignorance is by your own doing (whoever the players are who did this maybe or maybe not you personally). I got emails telling me, I also saw it on the lodestone for weeks with this info, I also saw it on OTHER gaming sites. I mean really, it was pretty hard to miss unless you was stranded somewhere in the middle of nowhere eating Faeces and Distilled Urine to survive!Quote:

Look up the data. Most JP servers are at least 25% NA players. I seriously doubt that those servers were their first choices. After all, if you can suggest that I "think about that for a minute" now, then I'm sure that we can assume that those English speaking players on JP servers would have "thought about that for a minute" before creating characters on servers that they get no support from. You'd check info about this, which did indeed offer Server Transfers at soft launch (Open Beta/Early Access is generally referred to as a Soft Launch.) You can't blame SE because you chose not to keep up with info. I mean please be realistic, why did you choose not to keep up with info about the game you planned to play? You had a month to do a server transfer application basically - you're telling me during the entire half year of beta for ARR you never looked into it once or even information about it..? They emailed every one who played 1.0 about server transfers, if you posted even once on lodestone forums, you got an email because you played till at least level 2 even if you quit a week later, you got an email as a previous FFXIV player.

For all of my frustrations of being stuck on a JP server now, the first few weeks were actually a blessing because I only experienced a fraction of the issues that NA servers were having. Aside from 8am-11am I could log on without a problem and blew through the main story while everyone was rushing it making que times very easy even for dps. I look at the poor guys now that are trying it and the que times for stupid things like pre30 dungeons, titan/garuda easy are just ridiculous and I usually end up tanking for them so they can get a group real quick.
