Nonstop AFK players in Castrum DF

With the removal of the AK speed run we now have a new and growing plague upon us.

With CM now the go to for tome farming many players have taken to simply joining and going AFK and relying on whoever is left to complete the run for them - usually these people are either healers or tanks which make the problem even worse, especially when BOTH healers join and go afk, which is exactly the group I have found myself in as I type this post.

At least please think about adding a kick feature to 8 mans or adding some way that these people can not get away with this bullshit.

I used to think I had a pretty colorful perspective on the various degrees of ass-hattery one finds in online games, but the past few weeks with this game has introduced me to a whole new spectrum of bullshit. Granted I've been very lucky that every pug I've joined through the DF has been filled with great people who are willing to put their heads together when presented with an obstacle. The stories I've read here on the forums motivated me to find an FC quickly after hitting 50.

This one by far takes the cake, and I can't even begin to fathom the logic that goes into it; especially from tanks and healers without whom a dungeon cannot be completed. WoW had a similar problem at one point with people entering BGs like Alterac Valley (a 40 v 40 pvp scenario notorious back in the day for lasting hours, even days) and either going afk or just fishing and not engaging in the battle. The problem was fixed by adding in a "Report AFK" option under player names, and then, if I remember correctly, a system that just auto booted you from a BG if your character ever became flagged as afk.

You can one tank Castratum. Or even have a monk facetank most of the bosses. This didn't happen in AK because there was more personal responsibility. Castratum is so easy you can have 1-2 afkers and still clear it with ease.

Until they put in a vote to kick option, people like this shouldn't be catered to and you should just leave your group immediately. Unfortunately it's going to be a colossal waste of time for everyone, but I'm not going to put in effort just for someone to sit at the entrance doing nothing and collect tomestones.

On another note, people really should try harder to get in an FC so you can do runs with people within a certain circle. Things tend to go a lot better this way. I've only been PUGing stuff on my secondary classes while attempting high level stuff within my FC only and it has been less stressful than the alternative.

Blame the developers for creating that abomination that they call endgame.

If duty finder had a big "Are you sure you want to play with a bunch of randoms from random servers that may or may not grief, troll, belittle, or annoy you?" confirmation box when you queued, would people still complain when strangers dont live up to their expectations? If you don't want these issues, dont queue with strangers.

Kicking will not prevent nonsense like this from occurring, and it will cause additional problems such as people kicking you because they don't like how you perform on a parser or because you chose a stupid hair color. Random dbags will be random dbags.

Someone on my Twitter said they had someone AFK at the beginning and then at the end said "Thanks for the carry." and left.

Isn't that infuriating?

Until SE does something about it, start a party in Mor Dhona. People are less likely to do this when they're all from the same server.

from what ive seen lately youre better off with them afk, so many over geared players that have no idea at all how to play

thats what you get for spoonfeeding high end currency at a high rate

I think the Castrum trolls are worst than the afk, people that seems to do just the most retarded thing possible to screw up runs, and complain of ridiculous things all the time. they need to implement a vote kick fast for this runs

Too bad those of us who have lives are gated from even entering for a month or two due to artificially limiting progression by capping currency and only offering 1 or 2 dungeons for gaining said currency.

By SE's own words Bahamut's Coil is designed to not be completed by the vast majority of the player-base until well after CT.

So yes, this is endgame for a very large portion of the player-base.

Calling content you do, to prepare for end game, end game is kinda redundant.

I like to sign in for Titan HM at the start of my night while wearing my crafting gear. Then I /sit and refuse to heal anybody.

I earn gil for sending people back to their queues.

Well, a better analogy would be that -

AK is Breakfast, Lunch (Crystal Tower) didn't make it into the game, so dinner (BC) is much harder because you're starving from only having breakfast.

And you wonder why? That grind for Darklight gear is the most poorly designed gear gating for content I have ever experienced.

I think a dungeon kick feature is required for this kind of situation. Someone gets into a dungeon and just AFKs so that the rest of the party can get them free tomes. Please add a kick feature so that people can have fun playing the game and kick AFKers just looking for a free ride!

Managed to get into 2 cas runs last night and both have tanks and healers AFKing.

Really frustrating when it takes over 40-50 minutes to get into one - let alone getting a dodgy one. So unfair :(
