The transportion problem needs fixed - and soon.

I'm really beginning to get disillusioned now. At rank 50 I am travelling the world more and more for NMs, quests, job quests etc and my Anima is at an all time low ( < 20). When I can I used my Hermes Sandals or switch to Miner and abuse prospect but hey, come on now SE, it's been too long now.

I don't know if you have chocobos planned or airships, hell I don't care, we need some kind of fix now - even if it's just a plaster. I suggest you change the Anima regeneration to 1 every 2 hours; I imagine all that would take is adjusting a variable in a line of code. I'm not asking for this permanent and once you implement a transit system change it back, but when my enjoyment of the game is starting to swing on something like the amount of Anima I have to travel versus the amount of time I waste walking to destinations then I think you have a real problem.

Seriously this needs addressed, and quickly please?

Don't worry we've only been waiting half a year for chocobo's give them the other half and it'll be implemented :).

Walking wouldn't be a problem if the zones were not so freakin huge and if it was not just copy/paste for 100 miles.

I seem to walk everywhere because I hate to use my anima, i've just got into the routine of using it as little as possible which kind of defeats the purpose of it.

I agree we need Chocobo's and airships badly, hopefully the recent talk of garlean ironworks means airships are on the cards.

Chocobo's should have been added a long long time ago.

This simply does not matter, at all. The fact that the game has been out for over six months and we still do not have any kind of transportation besides a stop gap measure in the form of anima is completely and utterly ridiculous.

Have you every played FFXI? walking from sandy --> windy can take you 1hour how long does it take you in ffxiv? no more then 30min. So ya ffxi take way longer to walk city to city then FFXIV.

maybe SE should cut up the maps into zone and make them all diff like in FFXI.

they already said they will implement alternative forms of travel. the dont need to reduce anima cost or increase regneration rates. if they do that, that'll negate the need for alternate forms of travel because everyone will have so much anima you would just teleport since it would be faster.

If you're fighting NMs or even doing anything in a group you could all meet up somewhere and have one person port. My personal philosophy is, if I have time I'll walk and if I don't I'll port.

Pretty much agree with OP... behest overflow, traveling for leves, and repair returns drain it pretty fast as is.

As for walking, the charm wore off after I spent about 90% of my time walking instead of playing. So I figured I could port, get my things done, and do some walking in real life instead :)

My suggestion was to temporarily increase the Anima regen until they figure out what they are doing re: transportation. Once done then return Anima regen to it's previous level. Thanks for taking in my whole post.

I totally agree with the idea of the transportation' problem.

To my (casuals?) eyes, it's just a shame that in 2011, a game make us walk and walk and walk again.
Why walk?
Because the regen of animas is just too ridiculous for what FFXIV purpose

I recently did a test, and use all the animas I wanted w/o thinking of economy:

My journey begins in Ul'dah
I take 5 local leves
Ohhh shit i don't jnow the english' names of camps -_-"
Well first camp 4 points
second 4 points
third 4 points
fourth 4 points

3 points to go in Gridania for new leves
fifth delivery 4 points

Some leves in mun tuy 1 point

4 points + 1 to do some other leves at other camp

4 to go in the camp of the evening event

3 points to warp friend in Ul'dah

And i don't even add linkpearl to give!!!!
Quest to do!!!


36 points used and a regen /day of 6 -________________________-

Finish all locals leves with a pnj in city would be nice
or being able to invite ppl in our LS from anywhere, w/o having to be face to face.
Have a home point in city, and be able to warp in a city, and not only at the last etherite touched

I'll enjoy walking just when I have a chocobo

so stop forcing me to walk until you add the chocobo system to the game

SE is working on transportation now if I recall when I read the last letter. If they continue to take longer than they are having issues in the coding(my first guess) or some other matter. Like everything else you just have to be patient. The team has a lot of mess to deal with and fix.

on a selfish note: CHOCOBO NOW!!! WITH CUSTOMIZATIONS INCLUDED!!!

It's not against you, or against Square Enix (or a little for them) huhu :p

But enough of "patient", or " this need a lot of time to fix/to test"

They bring the anima's recovery to 1 anima each hour,
And when they release their Chocobos, or what they want, they bring the anima regen to 1 each four hours
This wouldn't need six month to work on è_é

At this level, it's a question of will, not of time!

Man I guess Chocobos should instantly teleport you to grid coordenant on the map too right? Because running the chocobo takes a hell of alot longer than warping with Anima.

Is fun for you to take more than one hour to finish a quest starting in Ul'dah and finishing in Limsa just because of the distance?


There's maybe a balance between the 6 anima recovery per day, and my pretending instant teleport everywhere will grr :)

I hope they remove anima completely when they add chocobos and airships. Give mages teleports/warps and remove anima completely, I always thought anima was added in a beta as a "placeholder" before they added a real transportation system :/

Chocobos, airships, and anima would make travel too fast and bland.

6 Anima is far more than we should get per day anyways. Anima is equatable to free transport without even the need to as much as WALK anywhere. Why would chocobos a faster means of walking trump Anima in any way? moving around the world is part of the game otherwise we wouldn't have zones at all, just a bunch of instanced gates to do our leves in.

Hummm...But what is the difference between and anima's teleportation and a MP's teleportion?

The new anima's recevery would be great ah ah ah

Anima makes the game anti-social, teleporting makes the game more social. It also makes travel harder, anima with chocobos and airships makes travel too fast, it's simply too much.

Teleportation spells are earned, not handed to you just for loging in. I'm not against 1-2 free warps a day that makes enough sense for people to get where they are needed in a hurry.

But if you REQUIRE more than that per day you might want to invest in some walking shoes for your character. Once you actually decide to LOOK at the world it's very well put together and not as "COPY PASTED HUR HUR" as many people just spew out.

Personnaly, I would call "fun", "pleasure", "game" the firsts times you go in an area.

This is just dumb, if they didnt intend any sort of walking, then they woulda just said to hell with camps and walking and given infinite anima and or just made you turn in quests at the quest hub. complaining about using 36 anima because you werent able to walk any sort of distance is stupid. Hell, you even used an anima to teleport to mun-tuy...you seriously couldnt walk the distance? that's just lazy. stop crying about anima regeneration, the World isnt THAT big at which you have to be able to teleport to each node, we're forunate enough to be able to teleport to crystals in the first place. everyone wants choco's airships etc, theres no denying that, but complaining about not having enough anima because you wasted 36 is just dumb.

Omg, you really read what you want o_O'

The problem isn't I stupidly used 4 animas to go somewhere one time.
The problem is i'll have to walk HOURS to go a thousand times in 4-5 places each 36 hours.

Of course from Ul'dah it's quick to go to Black brush, of cours it's quick to go to Horizon
But it is differen to do horizon => Broken water!?

Walk to horizon, do leves there/nophica, port to broken water as a favored destination, do leves there. Port back to uldah after. That's 4 anima, you get 6 per day, this is exactly what I do. What's your complaint again? o_o

Their complaint is that they just wanna be able to teleport all the time and not have to worry about the amount of anima they have =p

Well Ul'dah was just an example, I like to swich of city everydays.
The favorated etherite isn't enough, for my evil noobish view of fun

Personally if I were directing the game I would

1. Get rid of Anima
2. Implement new forms of transportation
a.Chocobos
b.Airships
c. Teleportation from High level Mage class which goes to 3 main cities aetheryte only
d. Implement an NPC in each town and camp which would serve similar to an outpost warp, and you could ask them to warp you to different camps every other in-game day for a price of 5,000 gil if in same zone and 10,000 gil if in another zone.
3. Change it so when you click on an aetheryte you have to confirm that you would like to set it as a home point
4. Implement items like Warp Cudgel from FFXI that will teleport you only to your home point

Yeah that would probably work out in the long run for the people who join after they hopefully fix the economy.

It will be fixed in the order the players voted.
Wait till the batte system changes first.

I had an Idea for when your running on a Paved Road or in town you gain a "Haste" buff that lasts as long as your on the paved road and while under the effect you have a lower notice rate with aggressive monsters.

I think I would actually like that. And make those little towns you see on the map their own zones, and actually decent-sized towns, like the ones in FFXI. Put shops and stuff in there, maybe even a crystal.
