Getting tired of blocking all these dam gil sellers

I need a dam gil spam mod

On gilgamesh they've even been spamming southern shroud where people are trying to /sh for fate parties.

Indeed, got to Uldah and had to blacklist 3 people the second I got there. Reported them all as I always do, its rewarding watching them get deleted from my blacklist one by one as SE finds and evaporates the scum..I have reported over 20 people at this point, I will continue to do so..

So to all you Gil sellers, should you happen across this thread, you are the lowest, and I hope SE goes after every one of your websites.. In some way, shape, or form..

Agreed. It's almost a daily chore now. Get up in your Inn Room, take a quick shower, get dressed, check weapons for rust, and report/blacklist endless RMT spammers before you can even start the game. If you don't, your entire chatbox will be filled with endless BS. SE has done an excellent job thus far on this game, and a lot of the main issues have been solved. They really should focus on getting rid of these Gil Sellers for good now. Obviously, we can't fully get rid of them and never will. But we need to do more to make them feel unwelcome than have them run unchecked as it almost seems right now.

You and me both OP. On the bright side approx 4 characters on my list was deleted recently which means we are making progress. Just 100+ more to go! : D

They really need to have someone just sitting in town or all the areas in general, to just sit there and delete these people. >_<

Hate to be a buzzkill but that's because the spammers themselves delete their characters from time to time and re-make them in order to be removed from everyone's blist. SE has done absolutely NOTHING to address the Gil spammer issue. During this last maintenance they had the opportunity to ban all the ones that players reported and not even a single one was banned during Maint, because I came back and the SAME exact gil spammers that were spamming minutes before the servers were brought down for maint (same names, same company) were still there spamming away.

i dont bother block em, i hope and think its just the normal scammer spam that all mmo have then they launch.

Think at this point we need an Achievement for Spam-Bashing :P

this is why i say make a separate channel for chars, for example, lvl 15+ only...i think it'll discourage them if they have to re-level their chars to spam every time they get their chars deleted

Sorry, I know it's not directed at me but yes, there are. That would depend on the time and world though. Most English speakers in the JP server are there because they're from Oceania/SEA or expats living in JP.. you'd probably want to join a FC or LS if you want to be in an English community. Once, I overheard a conversation between some players saying that they are planning to transfer to NA as soon as transfers become available so I don't know just how active the English community is during off our time.

And true, we don't get those a lot... but let's not give those sellers any bright ideas. :x

There really needs to be a quick right click button for "Report Gil Spammer" that also auto blocks them. Funny though, they stopped them for a moment earlier today... until they figured out you just need a few random characters at the end to bypass it, and being able to rapidly alternate between yell and shout. Still, its a marked improvement from what it was where you couldn't even catch the names.

A temporary way to fix this is to uncheck Shout under Character Configuration > Log Window Settings > Log Filters. You can make another Log Filter tab specifically for chat or shouts. This obviously does not fix the problem, but it does help when you don't want to see the RMT shouts in your main general chat box. Also helps with the party invite spam in shout too.

I'm pretty sure these spammers are people who have been mass-hacked. Someone in my LS was hacked and 'turned' into a gilseller. We are hoping that the person isn't perma-banned as they attempt to get their account back. =/ For those of you that aren't using an authenticator... PLEASE get one. You can download an app for your smartphone now (iOS or Android).
