increase accrucay and dmg output from marauder

Ive been playing this game for since release and have noticed that marauder is used more as a dd class then a tank. By increasing dmg and acc from marauder it would help the job become viable in the future. Im thinking that marauder may end up being left out of endgame for other jobs due to its lack of dmg and acc.

From what I noticed Mar is probably the 2nd highest dmging melee class outside archer which is brokenly overpowered atm. As well as mar having some fairly good attacks which add dot effects and heavy defense down.

glad has no dd potential, pug is decent but more of an evasion tank class, lancer is a sorta a dd/support class, thurm is fairly strong with dots things take chunks out of the mob, conj regiment nukes wreck things outside nms.

Ok first off Trezzy is right, second Xatsh is completely wrong and must have no experience playing Marauder. Lancer has 2nd highest physical damage after archer.

MRD does plenty damage.

MRD has decent accuracy, but you need lots of acc gear.

MRD can AOE like a beast and can survive mobs' TP moves fairly well.

Yeah, there are a ton of threads complaining about Marauder's lack of accuracy. So I'm sure the devs are aware of it.

I haven't seen any parsed numbers, but I believe Archer is #1 in DPS by a mile, and Lancer is 2nd highest melee. Then it's pretty close between Marauder and Pugilist. This is just a wild guess, but I'd probably give the edge to Pugs. Pugs do less damage per attack, but they miss less often, get a lot more TP, and throw off WSs more often, so they get more damage spikes.

Marauders miss like crazy, especially at lower levels. All those misses mean you're not building TP for WSs, and because Marauder attacks use a bunch of Stamina, you end up launching fewer attacks. As a Marauder, you're pretty much forced to use as much gear/food as you can on Accuracy, just to get it up near where other classes are without Accuracy gear. It gets marginally better at higher levels, but you're always going to miss a bunch. (During one leve in the mid-40s, I missed 9 swings in a row. And that's with 100 Dex and 4 silver accuracy rings.)

On the other hand, Marauders are head and shoulders above other melee classes in AoE. As long as end-game has multiple mobs you're fighting at the same time, Marauders will have a role. (Unless you decide to go with all Thms and Archers. :D)

I have been killed many times on MAR because I missed a mob like 8-9 times in a row. There is no excuse to be missing this much, I have a ton of accuracy, still precision, abs-acc as well and it makes very little diff.

I think what people fail to understand is that the battle system & class system are getting complete overhauls which have made any current class adjustments moot, so they simply haven't been taking care of any class issues due to this. Patience FTW!

Just because you missed 9 times in a row doesn't mean that your accuracy sucks in general. Just like all those times you hit 9 times in a row means your accuracy is great in general.

If you really think your acc is that low, get a HQ weapon, use silver rings, keep your dex at least 80-110, use acc food divine boost, stop fighting mobs that are too high for your rank.

Skill wise, use still precision, hawks sys, disorient, and comrade in arms

And feign if you miss ;).

Seriously though, my mrd is 40 now, still loving it and really don't feel the 'im missing so much' vibe. I do have my dexterity high, so maybe that helps a bit.

I realize there's some measure of luck involved, since it's all just dice-rolls behind the scenes. But hitting 9 times in a row doesn't mean nearly as much as missing 9 times in a row. You should hit more than you miss. If I miss 9 times in a row, I've got to hit the next 9 times in a row just to bring my accuracy up to 50%. And accuracy below 50% is too low. If you think 40% is fine, then we have a more fundamental disagreement about what is an appropriate level of accuracy.

I said I had 4 silver rings and 100 Dex. And I said it was a leve. I wasn't solo grinding basilisks. I was doing a leve at Camp BW on 3 stars.

I also said, "As a Marauder, you're pretty much forced to use as much gear/food as you can on Accuracy." So I'm aware of the ways in which you can boost your accuracy, and I obviously use them.

As for getting an HQ weapon, I did (after this). But this kind of proves my point. If Marauders have to buy HQ weapons, equip silver rings, and eat accuracy food, just to have the same Acc as an unbuffed other class, then something is out of whack.

I had equipped all those skills at the time (except Comrade in Arms, which doesn't help Acc). And in fact, I popped Disorient both before and in the middle of my whiff-fest.

Are you suggesting that Marauders are just as accurate as other classes? Because if so, I totally disagree.

If your point is that there are ways that Marauders can increase their accuracy, well, yeah. I said that.

If your point is that Marauders do not suck, I agree with you. Like I said, Marauders should have a role in end-game parties even with all their accuracy trouble.

I love playing Marauder. It's my favorite class. But sometimes it can be frustrating whiffing like Mark Reynolds.

More or less, yes.

Most people think that their class has a bad this or a bad that. It's just a perceived weakness.

We all remember the times when we miss 8 times in a row, but it doesn't happen that often compared to the times we hit 20 times in a row, and we mentally don't even acknowledge it.

I don't even eat acc food on NM fights, and I still kick ass as a R50 MRD. Accuracy was much worse pre-November patch.

I'm sure there's some validity to this. But I'm not sure that a Lancer thread about how much they miss is evidence that Marauders don't miss much. For one, Lancers miss a bunch, too. For two, considering how consistently people complain about Marauder accuracy, I'd be shocked if everyone was wrong and all classes missed the same amount.

But I would like to see those parsed numbers. I could certainly be wrong.

Totally agree. But the Nov patch buffed everyone's accuracy, not just Marauders.

Fair enough. I'm sure some folks appreciate that. Sorry I misinterpreted.

Thing is, Marauders should have a lower overall Accuracy, but the current rates are a bit much. It's easy to get a Pug or Glad to crack out great Acc. But Marauders should be given SOME slack on the Acc front... Though that isn't really worth throwing proverbial chairs in the forums either xD.
