Please don't let other people in team know. When someone types this out in chat; it usually mean the group is doomed from the start. No one is willing to teach people anything in the endgame. Either read the ign guide, or wing it like I have.

I ask if anyone is new in the dungeons everytime, and if they say they are new, I give a cursory of the dungeon (stalkers in WP for instance) then go over fully what needs to be done on each of the bosses. Best to let the elitists leave so you know to leave if you ever see them again through DF.
Well unlike you ive had people actually willing to teach, then I go with Free Company members as often as I can and usually run the lower level ones with those who need them as well.
Please mention that you are new, instead of causing us all to die at the boss because you don't know what you're doing. I'm happy to explain instead of suffer through several deaths because you won't speak up. Had this problem yesterday.
If it's my first time, I always let people know. Either everyone else will be new as well, or someone will be knowledgeable of it to help the others out. If someone is so arrogant and elitist that they're unwilling to play with people who haven't done it before, then good riddance to them. They shouldn't be in the public queue anyway at that point.
I disagree, OP.
If they don't let people know they are new, they won't know what to do in the various situations. I just ran a dungeon last night with a PUG and two of the four had yet to do it - I was one of those two. Because we spoke up, the other two told us what to expect and what to do. We completed it because we spoke up and we weren't surprised by anything which would have certainly killed us all.
If people are jerks because someone is doing content for the first time, the problem isn't the new person.
Please heal the freaking tank! Don't let the damn tank die, like so many healers I've seen they just let the tank die. This is a bad healer and has no idea of how to heal properly in an mmo. Concentration should be on the tanks, but also dun let youself die in the process.
I'm guessing OP was sarcastic?
I for one got some help when I was a first timer in most dungeons, and now when some people say it's their first time I help them out, I mean you have to be smart about this, if you don't explain you're just going to waste more time
Also follow the tank, if he is not new he'll know what to do but let the tank get the hate 1st healers stay the fuk back!
Whenever I get into a dungeon where it's my first time, I always make sure to look up a quick guide to get a general idea, but then I also let the group know it's my first run through, but I have looked at a guide and if they have any tips/info to let me know. No one in any of the groups gave me any grief, most were ok with it and explained things as we went along.
So I'd have to disagree with OP's statement, be open and honest about your experience in the dungeon, and if you don't know the fight they'll explain it to you instead of letting the group wipe or letting you die because of lack of knowledge of the fight(s).
If you dont let people know you dont know what to do, then they won't know to tell you what to do. So then you'll show up and screw things up, and give people a bad impression of new people.
@ OP; Dafuq?
I usually let them know if its my first time running a dungeon so that they'll let me know what to be prepared for as a heal. Never have i ran something that ended up in a wipe from this. Hell, we've had terribad DPS that loves the red circles around their feet so much that ONLY the tank and I had to duo the bosses. Coincidence? Some people are just horrid and/or d-bags.
I always let people know it's my first time in. Even when I have a relatively easy job of it as a BRD it's still nice to let people know you haven't seen the mechanics of the dungeon yet.
Yep that is the key to good team work, to not communicate at all. lol
first thing I say when I'm running a new dungeon is: Hi, first time running this dungeon.
Not to cause the flames of wrath, but I have to kind of agree with the OP. I've been in instances (endgame mostly) where people with yell and complain and leave if they have newbies in their group. I tend to see this a lot in Primal HM battles. Someone asks the "whose new question" and then when someone raises their hand, all hell breaks loose. "Oh great, we're all going to die. It's not even worth it. You scrubs can go ???? yourselves." Yea......I don't wish that treatment on any newbies.
People unfamiliar with the dungeon is not the problem. People who refuse to listen and learn about the dungeon and its mechanics is the problem. People too impatient or unwilling to teach only compounds the problem.
I've enjoyed my second pass through the dungeons raising my gladiator and meeting real actual newbies to them. Nearly all of them have been so nervous about screwing up that they listen attentively.
I dont get it, every dungeon is basically dont stand in stuff. How could you not figure this out. There are no real difficult mechanics other than aurum vale and endgame dungeons/HM Primals. And those are not that tough until garuda HM/Tital HM.
If they are new I tell them not to stand in stuff and it worked out pretty well while leveling.
I always let people know as well, and will continue to do so. But yes, people leaving just because someone is new is pretty freaking lame.
I think it's better to educate people about what to expect rather than letting them remain ignorant and possibly be a detriment to the group. There's a notification at the beginning of every dungeon whether there's a new person or not, so it shouldn't come as a shock whether you have someone new to the dungeon or not.
I like to give a quick scan over a dungeon outline before I run it. But I also tell everyone it's my first run and to let me know if there's things to look out for. While I haven't done many runs, I haven't yet had anyone who wasn't willing to oblige on details let alone get mad and quit. I can only remember dying once (aside from primal fights) and it was in the <2% of a boss' life.
I disagree with you OP. BUT I miss in some cases myself and some people learning stuff by themselves.
Example: on the first time on titan normal, I didnt know anything, I was with 2 friends and a tank from DF. He asked if it was anyones first time and I said me, he proceeded to write all the strategy and a friend spammed like crazy so I dont read because he knows I dont like things spoiled. The tank was psyched to finally find people willing to learn stuff BY PLAYING THE GAME, sure I fell twice but then nailed it, we had an awesome tank as player and in personality.
Same thing happened with the last boss on Qarn, learnt stuff on our own and felt so much more gratifying than someone telling us.
