Info about 1.18... When?

Well, actually we don't have a roadmap like FFXI , so guys what do you expect from the next update? I hope in something of very important this time.. Combat system revamp finally ? First wave of dungeon/raid? Introduction of companies? Chocobos? Job system?

Next week probly we will get info, shortly after itl go live

also we do have somewhat of a roadmap, just not as detailed yet cuz we are doing more then just content still

actualy, 2 weeks not next week, we got 1.17a this week

so expect info possibly late next week and a patch the week after

There is a kind road map in the in development thread.

I guess we have to use our imagination in what is easiest to implement (I'm not sure if the dev tag numbers are in relation to what they plan to fix first), we'll probably get a new letter from Yoshi-p next week.

can't wait the next letter... i hope that it will talk about the new combat system this time.. I think that the incoming dungeon/raid are based on the revamped combat system.. So we should have info soon.. Remember when yoshida said in a previous letter that soon we will have the first screen shots about the istances?

Dungeon wont be added too Class and battle system which i think 1.18 is battle and 1.19 could be class system then 1.20 would be dungeon and ishgard opening for everyone then around 1.21+ it may go P2P with news on ps3 release but don't count on what i saying that just hint i been getting at from the interview with SE. you know SE alway leave little hint that you pick up lol. They said they want September to have this game 100% ready for PS2 and ps3 release.

So 1.18 Next month = battle system "Maybe"
1.19 june "class system "Maybe"

Then dungeon and the rest of the stuff and maybe some good news at E3 maybe :)

Well this is right.. i think that in order we need the preparations first: combat system > job system > content designed around these changes.. It will be stupid to release content related to the old system at this time.. What do you think?

yep that why battle system be release then class system then dungeons then i guess they would fix the copy/paste on the maps like that said they was few month ago.

hes guessing, he also told us we had companies coming last patch

TBH, I am not expecting a whole lot of miracles from the patches. I am thinking we will be more "wowed!" when we have the release of the first expansion, w/e that is.

No he didn't. He said that "Information would become available" prior to patch 1.17, but he never said we were getting Companies.

Go look at previous Letters from Yoshida, I believe it was around producers letter 3-5 he stated this. He said the Combat changes would be split over 2 patches (1.17 and 1.18) and at the conclusion of the last patch we would also be introduced to our first Endgame Dungeon.

well as i can see everyone thinks/hopes that in the 1.18 we will have battle system revamp + the introduction of the first dungeon/raid ... let's cross the fingers >_>

yeah, we got alot coming up, and im sure some stuff is ready but being held for the combat changes(and the fact they have to test them WITH the combat changes before they can give them to us)

ffxiv wont be released for the PS3 until the very end of the year at soonest, likely next year around feb. march.. There is way to much that needs to change, be added or adjusted to even think about a PS3 release. The game is still extremely bland and not fun at all.. Crafting changes would be easy. alittle surprised they just dont do that quick. wouldnt take long since everything is there just needs adjustments mainly. Combat, we all know that fails at the moment. etc etc blah blah blah...

I think SE holding off until feb. march of 2012 would be a good thing.(if we're still around next year. :P) Any release before then I dont think would go to overly well.

Wha? You know this is a thread about patch 1.18 and not about PS3 release right?

Yoshi-p said he planned to show images of the dungeon content prior to its release, so hopefully we will see that with the next letter.

I guess they will release some info after golden week, alias 9 may

I wonder if the developers will take Golden Week off too. They could probably use the rest, though it'd be a good opportunity to release some info since many JP kids will probably play a lot that week. :P

You do realize this is factoring in all the patches, including 1.18 right? So it kinda fits in. :P

same.. an mmo it's about 70-80% around the BS imho... so better it will be, better the game will be too!

My guess is we'll get a letter tomorrow and then we'll get the update the Monday after next.

and as every day, when i wake up, i go to check lodestone.. and even today no news... /cry :/

They barely work as it is imo, it wouldnt surprise me if the dev team have a typical 9-5 job mon-fri lol Which dont work in the games industry!
