Small repair-without materials

Small Repair option

New ability/option crafters would get at lv10 where you can do a small repair every hour (real life). This will require no materials to do. When you do a actual repair its 100% repaired but when you do a small repair it will just repair 5-30%.

Also like to note you can only do small repairs on your charcter not others.
Higher your crafter rank for the item the better random chance you will get 30%

Lets say your lv1 GLD and your trying to repair a Lv50 item. That be like 1 outta 50 chance toget 30%.

If your level is the same as the level item your repairing it will be 20% chance toget 30% repair.

If your way above the item it will be a 50% chance toget 30%

The item will alwas get repaired but the % will be random and under 30%.

im sure this is just another way for trying to get to 100% total without mats
the people would just use the ability over and over til it was 100% and no one would use mats anymore

Yeah your right. Maybe make it every... 4hr option then. That way you cant over use it. 30% isnt much even when all your gear gets damaged at sametime. I think there making lv50 a sub cap for crafting classes later anyway

I prefer the option of "not at all"

adding more pains to the repair system isnt something we need

the system, works fine as is and the only thing we may need on top of it is repair kits(that repair to 75%)

Well I think crafters in FFXIV main goal should be to make items, not repair them. Them adding a repair system in just added pain.

alot of games have repair systems....its just another device of the economy and theres nothing wrong with that

What economy

Thats right theres no AH yet and eveyone gives me repairs for free because those items arent worth anything.

No repairs should require materials. It's only another level of confusion and frustration that drives people away. The population is dwindling. Word on the street, there is only 17k people left.

repairs aren't really driving no one away, people just go to npc since have a lot of money and nowhere to spend it. Leave the troll alone lillith, belgian it's the most infamous poster here (and even in the japanese section).
Back on topic, repairing items from..the air, it's a shaky argument. repair kit it's almost the same and work better

actually the repair kit is one of the best ideas....
Here is how i see it could happen

Say you want a BSM to repair your weapon. You would go to the MW and find BSM repair kits under a new section called "repair kits" and buy them. Only a BSM can make BSM repair kits and of course the BSM would have to be the correct level to make say a lvl 30-40 repair kit.

That way we do not have to carry around 100s of different tools to repair stuff and the melees would not have to find a crafter anymore. The crafter still gets its money from selling the items on the MW and now the melee can just Search in the MW instead of shouting, bazaaring, menders ward, and hoping for a crafter to pop up. Now even when crafters are offline they can still make money from repairs! and even with the crafter offline the melees can still get the repairs they need.

I think this is a great idea

Yeah I just took a look at his posts. And I will say, don't get me wrong, we all know this game has it's flaws...but we all know that, and we all know that the devs are working there tooshies off to fix it...so even though I can understand the trolls being upset...I just sometimes wish that trolls would keep their comments to themselves and let me enjoy reading on the forums T_T without running into "RAWR THIS GAME IS AWFUL BLAH GO PLAY (insert game they think is better here)" :/ Oh well!

Edit: On topic though, I prefer the mats. I would like mats to be used to repair items. I think likes others have stated, that it gives a reason for certian materials to exist and be used in the game, instead of just spamming certian items to level up and selling them off to an npc. When I craft items, I prefer to put them up for sale just in case someone could use them, that's just me though.

Also on topic this is not a good idea because DoL make money off matts... we can not kill any type of jobs bread and butter... it kills the game and the ranks people worked hard for.

Really where the link you got that information from? Stop trolling BelgianRofl leave like you said you where. Anyone who think what he said is true it's not SE wont ever release that type of information and seeing how SE took a way to see how many users are online you can't never find out how many are really still playing.

So Belgianrolf do us all a fav and leave like you said you where and don't come back, i somewhat took you serious before but now you just back up on your own words and came back. Go troll somewhere else for the love of god -.-

I would like this idea better if repairs were simply done away with. It's more annoying then anything.
