NO more gil...

When everyone has hit 50 and the quests run out and we have blown all our gil on trying to level crafting or gear repairs where are we supposed to find more gil?? I see lots of gil sinks teleporting repairs etc but it doesn't seem that SE has looked well into being able to sustain a respectable gil income when we are at level 50.

I believe this topic has been discussed into the ground in several other threads/topics. If not found on the first page in this general section, try at least the next three pages. You'll see the debate raging on about what people do and don't do for creating gil (not just gil transfer). Instead of starting your own topic add your voice to those topics that have already been started about the same thing. :)

High Fives to all of us smart enough to go crafting first realizing how this game works. Sitting on 4mil atm on new Siren server. So easy to make money in this game if you put in the work...

Now its time to level battle class. Way I see it all these 50's that rushed doing fates now just wanna QQ that they rushed content and now gear suck's and they got no gil to do stuff. Who's faults that you rushed the content?

I suggest instead of blowing your Gil on crafting you use the gathering classes and farm your materials that are possible to gather and farm. I have around 250k just from quests and selling a few drops while doing dungeons and quests.

"Everyone" will never hit 50. There will always be new players joining. There will always be players from zero to 50 earning quest gil and spending it. The longer the game runs the more people will be crafting and selling and the game vendors will see less and less business. That is the biggest sink right there, the game vendors. Soon more players will be buying from the market board than the NPC vendors. there are not going to be a finite number of players who all hit 50 then game over.

Now the real problem might be all your hard earned gil is going into my pocket and it's gonna go right into my mansion, don't worry I will have spare rooms for the staff...

I have alot of luck selling things on the market board. Sell unusuable gear if u have any left. I was luck enough to not mess with any of it until I was getting full and I thought I try out the market and 90% of it sells. Dont need to look it up or anyting. Put a price. If u log in tom and its still there, right click it and lower it. Rince and repeat. It will all sell.

Here's the thing. Adventuring never creates much gil in *any* standard MMORPG. It has always been this way. No one really noticed because those games didnt have epic gil sinks (WoW being an exception). Gil is traditionally created by crafters, gatherers, and trash loot.

XIV's problem is that repair costs are too high. We have repeatables called leves for gil creation, not to mention guildhests and the like. The gil creation is *there*, it just gets eaten up by repair costs. They are fixing that with this maintenance so it should be problem solved. I do think that lvl 50 dungeons should probably drop silver allagan pieces instead of bronze. Bronze npcs for like nothing significant.

FF11 was easy to make gil for those who did BCNMs and hunted NMs , Crafting of course was the best way to make money , but you were not forced to do it.
I have over 150k and I am leveling a second Job plus Fishing , soon the other two Gathering Jobs then Crafting .........but really .
Everytime I spend 1 gil it drives me insane ..........

Sure I will figure out a good money path besides crafting , but if all fails I will end up crafting lol.

I find selling materia works fine for me, run a dungeon 2-3 times spirit bond complete, convert, rinse and repeat, sell on markets, profit.

First and foremost, daily quests for lvl 50s are being introduced with 2.1. So as for sustainable end-game income for people who strictly play DoW, I'd say wait and see.

Right now, your best bet would be crafting leves.

I just started playing a few days ago and I love the game so far ^.^ Based on all the comments, Gathering and then Crafting with items gathered is the best way to make gil for right now? Just to clarify it :D

I blame the damn under cutter in the Market Board AKA Auction House. I can barely sale anything now because people keep under cutting because they needed the Gil fast and want their items to sale. Something that is worth 25k become under cut to 5k, it's just so ridiculous.

They've already stated they are "substantially' lowering repair costs- currently the biggest gil sink in the game aside from teleport fees.

I believe many of these threads are being started by gil sellers trying to create panic buying.

If you're crafting and you have no money left. You're doin' it wrong.

Maybe MMO's aren't your cup of tea. Level a craft and check the market.

Grind from some instances, fates, and try leveling craft jobs. Crafting jobs actually helps out quite a bit in making gil, it helped out a lot for me.

and this is why I'm focusing on leveling Miner before jumping into endgame and endgame gears and stuff.

Ya I'm leveling a Archer/Bard to lvl 50 as my 2nd lvl 50 after my Summoner but the profit I'll make selling shards that i gather as a Miner will help in the long run.

Not to mention higher level Miner leve can give you easy 800 gil per leve because of the +25% bonus.

Its quite simple. Just add something repeatable that offers gil and lower gil sink in some parts.

Teleports need to be much cheaper or items need to be npc'd for more cash.
Gear repair should be much cheaper and happen alot less.

Allagan pieces dont offer enough gil. Plus raid parties seem to skip those chests. They need to start offering these coins after completing a raid. Also making Treasure chests give them out at random. Even Levequest chests need to pump them out. They only drop meds. With levequest limit and level only so much rmts can do.

New grinding content needs to come out and new quests need to come out. Looking at you Relic+2. 1000 Beastmen coins...
See expecting HNM beastmen fights to come out and Crystal tower, Skirmish and more.

People like these are the reason I feel so good having close to 2M gil on a non legacy server.

If you could easily gain gil from quests etc, what initiative would there be to Farm / Gather / Fish for crafters etc? Plenty of ways to make gils, check FFXI guides probably the same principle.

Then take them off the market. buy the undercut stuff and place it back to the board at "Proper" amount. If they looking for gil badly get the gil flowing. I've got about 4mil right now just by gathering, looking at what I'm gathering and seeing if there are any under cuts. If any I buy them out and resell the items plus my own.

I can't really fault AH PvP but... unless that 4 million goes back into the economy or you can get 4 million more from new (suckers) people prices crash or people turn to gil sellers... or just quit altogether. It isn't sustainable.

But what I'm doing is giving gil out. Say you have an item that you want to sell but don't have enough gil and don't want to wait for it to sell for 24,000. So you put it as 10,000. If I see it, I will buy the item for your price and resell it at 24,000. your getting the gil you want and I'm still getting profit from it. On a daily bases I'm forking over about 1.5 mil a day just out buying the auction house people and slowly building my gil up. So the gil is there flowing.

The solution is to never buy anything from the market. Grab a gathering class and sell materials to the suckers who want to waste their gil on crafting.

I love reading crafters bragging bout how much money they have to adventurers. Newsflash to crafters - adventurers don't give a crap about having millions of gil. What adventurers care about is, am I going to have to stop playing because I can't afford repairs? For these people, having to level crafting to 50 just so they can do dungeons at all is grounds enough to quit the game. The issue isn't that adventurers want lots of money so they can buy all the perks that come with wealth, the issue is that adventurers want to be able to play the damn game at all.

Again, that's great until the market starts to crash and that item is really only worth 4k. Then what? You take your gil and go home? If you quit that's 4 million gone from the economy forever, relatively speaking. Not sustainable.

Edit. If you see a crafting items that someone is selling for 99 as a bundle and you know that item for that crafting class don't need much of. Buy it and resell it in smaller bundles, and it's the same with as if you have 99 of an item but don't know how much that crafting class needs. sell in bundles of 20. They will sell.

Then you adapt. At said moment no one knows what the "proper" amount is to any item till 1 or 5 people take "control" over the board. If the market crashes then I take my loss and figure out a new strategy. Though I can't say if or when I leave the game but for now I don't plan on it.

It's really sad that people have gotten so used to games handing them items and money on a silver platter that they don't take the time to use their brains.

Guildhests: 1-2k+ gil per run
Levequests: Easily 2k+ gil per leve

If you have 100 leves saved up, you can easily make 200-400k from running those. And neither of those options even consider trading on the market.

BattleLeve's at 50 are like 470 gil with a decent bonus for speed. Oh and you have to repair afterwards too.

Prices are going to settle based on what people can afford or are what they are willing to pay, not on wishful thinking. A lot of people have not yet realized gil becomes much harder to get at 50... in many other games, you get more currency (and more ways to get it) as you hit max level, not less. People have been spending based on that, and you're starting see prices falling for a lot of things already as servers become more crowded and more people are hitting that wall at max level.

Some of you talk like your only option for travel is teleport.

I have been making a respectable income selling madman's whispering rods, quicktongue materia 3's and potions when my fav item of choice will give the damn thing to me. -.- Alternatively i get good money from selling off high quality items and creations. For example sell 3 elixirs for 150-200 gill each gets descent buys. I could go on but i don't want to give people too many good ideas on what sells well for me.

Low quality items have a pretty poor sell rate so steer clear of going down that avenue of making money. Your best income will come from people like me who want only the best mats at reasonable prices. High end tradecraft demands a certain level of excellence in items created and that is why high quality mats are crucial and most sought after. Get your marketing cap on and read those lists to find out what your server is low on (or being overpriced) and head out and get some for us tradies. : D

What are you talking about?? max lvl Guildheasts is lvl 40 that give 240g with a bonus of 50g. Highest leave gil give is 400-500 with bonus, stop talking nonsense.
