Lancer Concept Art Armor Set

So, I really enjoy collecting various armor sets for the Classes I level. I have both of the concept armor sets for my Gladiator and Warrior (Cavalry and High Mythril respectively) and I was just wondering what armor set the Lancer in this concept drawing is wearing, if it's actually in the game that is. I can't seem to find anything that really matches the look.

Unless XIVDB is wrong, the set is only useable by Pug / Mnk which doesn't make much sense if it's used as the Lancer concept art armor. Ahh well, maybe it's just a bug and I'll be able to equip it later.

Nope. In 1.0 The set was usable by only Lancers, Pugilists and Archers. It wasn't even available for Monk until 2.0. And now in the 2.0 version It is a Pgl/Mnk only gear with loads of crit rate and skill speed. The only problem is the craft is super hard and requires "materials" obtained Only by buying them at 125 philosophy tomestones at the Darklight Gear vendor at Camp Revenant's Toll in Mor Dhona.

Further more. It requires twice the amount of tomestones for the dark light armor of the slot you are trying to buy JUST in materials from the vendor. (Not counting everything else the craft calls for) AND it's not as good as dark light in any way, shape, or form, unless it is HQed. It's irritating me cause dark light is so easy to get, when this is arguably harder to obtain and isn't as good. I love the set but god damn.

Seriously? Why would they go and screw things up like that? I've also spent the past couple of days trying to match up all the artwork with the actual in-game armors and weapons, and now I learn this about the lancer's gear? That bites. Still, I'm not sure if it'll work, but at least there's the glamour system now to make the gear at least -LOOK- like the armor now.

It won't. Your class has to be able to equip the armor you want the appearance of.

I actually quite like the look of a lot of armor in the game *-*
I was happy for the vanity/glamour system but I have no vanity I actually like that is NOT armor. Which is surprising to me. I hate armor 8D
But somehow I find a lot of awesome and creative armors in this game I like. Especially the Black Mage/Summoner CT set. I also love the Dragoon Job and Myth sets too even though I have never liked anything with spikes till now lawl

Glamour confuses me. Seeing someone in full myth gear shows they are ilvl ~90+.

Seeing someone in Noob gear makes it look like we got a fresh Artifact1 member :o


But I like the look I made + the Garuda spear I used to glamour my Atma too :o

That's the thing with concept art - it's simply visualizing an idea for development purposes - it's not necessarily how things will actually turn out. Hence that armour model didn't actually end up being useable by LNCs for whatever reason known only to the development team.

Also glamour wouldn't help either as you can only glamour items onto your equipped gear that class or Job is capable of wearing after all (hence, not glamouring heavy armour onto a mage).

The artwork was acurrate 2012.
Before ARR every DoW class (not the jobs) except GLA and MRD could wear it.
