Asking S-E to Make a Way to Report RMT sellers through Chat

I understand there are many posts out there complaining about the RMT sellers. This is one to do something about it. Go to Leave A Suggestion under Support Desk.

Feel free to use what I wrote here. Just be curteous. Send it every day. Hopefully they will get the hint that this is something we need.

Subject: Need for a chat option to report RMT sellers

Please create a way for us to report gil sellers that spam through shout and tells. An option to do so by clicking their name and blacklisting them is in pretty much every MMO that is out there.

They way it is done now is too tedius, has people ALT+TAB out of the game and possibly crash, as well as all the information needed could be easily collected in that option (name, date, time, server, chat channel used etc).

Those people could then be placed on the blacklist automatically because they are not stupid, making difficult names to spell or read.

All of the information can be gathered within the game and you can also just support a In-Game Support Ticket for Harassment, however they have already confirmed that they are working on a feature to make this an easier process even still.

Why you need to do that?

Anyway - in the meantime - use the procedure described in this thread.

I think a /report RMT "User Name" function would be useful, especially if it auto-blacklisted them too

I think they should just black list the account behind the character that way they can't just make new characters and spam the same macro.

That's what they do indeed once confirmed.

ive reported so many and i just give up now, b list on sight and im permanently set to busy to prevent PMs

It is quite a serious issue at times, given that sellers spam walls of text for long periods of time, rendering general chat useless.

Apparently they changed it? I will do it the way through "cheating" then. Thanks for the heads up.

I have a limited amount of time to play the game, and don't want to waste 1 second dealing with a problem in the service I'm paying to recieve.

I play on ps3, so clicking a name or typing a message isnt' fun or easy.

The spammers aren't idiots - they spam so quickly I 'd have to make my chat log bigger just to see a name, and then that name is hard to read and re-write.

I'm suppposed to be playing a game, not policing the community.


2 fixes - swift STRONG action against rmts, AND more importantly strong action against anyone who buys from RMTs (If they have no market they go away).

There have been RMTs happening in MMO's for 10+ years now. If there wasn't a market, it would have died out years ago.

I do think they should add a right click on name to blacklist option.

The service you guys are paying for isn't to have the community regulated. Its for access to their game and servers.

There is a lot more under the hood than just ban hammering every account that gets reported (Hacked accounts of legit players).

While they do peeve me off to no end, SE is working on a fix, but they have bigger fish to fry, like getting the servers stable enough to handle the MASSIVE surge of new players when they release digital downloads again. But hey. Look on the bright side, there are no gil spammers at the 1017 screen.

On Famfrit the newest US Server the spam started within 3 days of it being online. At the moment there are 4 characters that are causing spam problems
Bruce Richa, Conphas Yarboroughdf (or is it dk on the end?) and *** Redsteele are 3 of them. I have them in my blacklist. Although most have garbled names like Dadadad Adadadfs. Its so bad that when I make a new toon I just sit there and wait for the 5 minutes of spam to finish before I try to type.

I can't understand how they think that annoying us like this is good customer service likely to win them business? As far as Im concerned they should rot in hell.
I like Blizzards reporting system you can right click on a players portrait or name in chat and the box covers spam, language and other things and there is still an ignore option. The first two report and ignore the player. The ignore function just ignores them for you.

By the way the spammers I mentioned are in area where conjurers start.

I know. They even have the audacity to ask to be put on your friends list to mail you things. DON'T. And add in they have friendly and courteous service. If they do I would courteously ask them to GTFO.

It's not THAT hard if you really know how and want to at least black list the spammers and if you don't want to waste time by reporting them (although it takes additional 10 secods to do so via Harrasment report) it's indeed your own decission. Just use this:

You dont't actually need to type the names manually. One trick / workaround is to highlight the spammer's name in the chat log, select tell and then change the /tell Spammer Name to /blist add "Spammer Name" and - it's done (don't forget to remove the space after the name added by the tell command). Before sending the /blist command you can also select and copy the name to paste it later on to Cheating or Harasment report. (mark with mouse or hodling shift and moving cursor, CTRL+C to copy, CTRL+V to paste)

If you're being bombarded by personal tells with spam set up the following macro and have it placed on your Crossbar:
/blist add <r>
which will add on blocks list the last person using tell on you. Takes less than 5 seconds to block someone using this macro.

* To highlight the name in the chat window on PS3:
Press Select to access the chat box, then use arrow up on controller to scroll up to the name, clikc by X to select (then select Tell from the context menu to use the above workaround)

Luckilly - spammers / gill sellers are unable to reach the areas with high(-er) level mobs and that's where you'll be most of your time anyway after the intial few levels so that's one plus at least.

The chat log on my screen is realtively small. Their spam messages are MANY lines long - more lines than my chat log shows. One message is big enough that their name isn't even visible. On top of that, it must be a hotkey that they're just mashing becuase it's lierally nonstop scrolling.

Yes, I can figure out how to ingorre and/or report them. No, I shouldn't have to. Take it to extreme proportions, and imagine there are thousands of new spammers on your server everywhere every day... do you want to spend your time ignoring and reporting, or playing the game???

I am paying for the entire suite of services including everything in the game and experience. Every part of that affects the product I receive. If any part is unsatisfactory they lose paying customers. So, they are accountable for anything that causes bad experiences that may cause them to lose income. The community as a whole determines what should be a priority to be "fixed" everytime a paying customr comes or goes. I'm saying, that right now, my experience is being ruined by spammers. How they handle the issue either increases or derease my loyalty and likeyhood of paying for another month.

Also - if there are issues with server crowding, these are valuable spots being wasted.
