RMTs are getting out of hand

so after logging on not even 2 seconds of online... and this happened. i Blisted 3 people and it went quiet for 15 seconds and then this picture happened.

yes everyone will tell me "block shouts / yells" however i happen to enjoy Shouts/Yells because i am a helpful player and will pretty much pick up random shouts to help people with dungeons / quests etc... and when i can't even read my log because of this what is the point of trying to help people in need? something really needs to be done about this.

At this point I've completely block all chat in game except party, linkshell, and free company.

Black list and report its the only thing you can do about it... SE already stated that they are looking into the issue but people are getting hack and its not a simple fix...

It's just one of those things where the few ruin it for the many. Until anti-RMT measures are set, you'll just have to deal with that generic solution if you don't want to turn off shouts.

yeah i've been Blist'ing like crazy and reporting as well... sad thing is my Blist is running out of space with its 200 player limit. that is really the big problem.

They need dev a quick ban method or auto ban method. I agree this is out of control now.

An autoban or maybe a "timeout" feature where it mutes the account in shout/tell/yell/say chats for x amount of time... or even the option to just rightclick the name.. report and while it reports at ignores them automatically

I would blacklist more but they need a quicker method of doing it. I would rather not write a form 10x for every RMT /sh spam.

I'd like them to hire some GM's to be in game so they could just ban hammer right on the spot. Screw this report stuff.

Exactly. Hire one or two people for each server and just perma-ban all day. We are getting so many shouts you can't even slow down the log fast enough to copy/paste the infractions into a Report Harassment claim.

Same it to bad we have to. If they put in an easier way to blacklist and report it would be better.

Its pretty horrible on my server, they are in a lot of zones, almost every city and several other leveling zones. You get tells from gold sellers every 5 min or so.

I don't know I've kinda been enjoying them lately, seeing the prices drop..

If repair costs are 5k, thats only 25c per repair!!!

Blacklist has only 200 spaces its going to be get pretty full at the rate I am adding gold sellers to it.

Would be nice to at least have a quick fill method for the blacklist. Open Blacklist -> click name into box and hit accept.

well they need to sort this out, I'm getting shouts from ones I've already blacklist. I'm hoping they ain't shouting for 30 mins, deleting the char & redo them with the same name!

I saw a moderator on here suggest that we report them as harassment when we see them.. as soon as I read that I did it and got a reply soon saying that I wouldn't receive a personalized response due to the amount of people that reported this person...that's fine... but now when I try to report another, the report feature is grayed out and won't allow me to type anything... as if I am not allowed to utilize that function anymore.

These Gil sellers are finding lots of money... maybe they need to teach some of these people complaining about how difficult it is to find gil. :)

Also, if you remove the ability to shout every so often, they still send tells. I get sent tells on Leviathan by a Leeroy Jenkins every so often around the dragonhead area.

At present, on Balmund as an Ul'dah resident, frequent traveller and crafter. My block list will only last 8 more days - the blacklist can "only" hold 200 people, and I have to block around 16 bots a day... this isn't sustainable.

I'd love to make some spare change sitting in town all day and banhammering gilsellers instantly. As quickly as they came.

report harassment, it works just tab - click into the main body then back to header
its a bit buggy someone should probably submit a report abt it
use a clear format, include who where time why,
keep it short and to the point, they dont have time to read about your aunties cats

edit: yea well aparently this isnt enough, they want us to basically retype the whole lot of crap thats getting spammed as well.


seriously SE, its your job to curb this, not ours, get of youre arses and do something now instead of waiting for the dev team to fix it.

They will stop when they realize that gil is completely useless in this game.
