4 million??????????
>.<
I'm level 48 carpenter. I have 24 gil. My retainers are filled with items it cost more to make than I get from selling. My DRG AF is torn to shreads because I can't afford repairs, I have 0 leve allowances, most gil I seem to be able to gather is 1k or so from dungeon runs, which take about half an hour for DF to get me a party.
It's no wonder the servers are full of gil-sellers with the massive lack of earning opportunities at high level and expense of crafting mats...
How in the heck you can get 4 million gil, I do not know.
1.4 as a 50 Carp.
Was late to the game after leveling up DoW and the market for Lance/Bow has since collapsed (down to more reasonable--though less profitable--levels.)
My highest is 38 PGL and my LTW is 30. I got 400k.
If you can't make money from crafting, you have some serious stupidity going on.
Depends on the server. I heard from one guy during DF that phoenix down run for 30k and he just sold it. On my server, it's 4k gil. Same thing on most crafted items, everything is so low :(. I burn more money on crafting since I am trying to speed up crafting to get to 50 for my relic wpn so haven't check what sells or not. But from what I have seen gathering items are more expensive than crafted things (but then I haven't really gone into market).
I have a lot of mats in my retainer but it's not selling, I made enough to fund my leveling that's about it.
I can make 400k in 3 days with no crafting..none zero....currently at 1.5 mil only stopped because it got boring
I only have lvl 30, but with 6 crafters :P , Im near to 400k. I won a lot of gils with craft.
Not sure if serious. If so, try this:
Go get mining. At level 1 you can mine Wind Shards right outside of Ul'dah. You click buttons, get wind shards, and then sell them on the market boards. It won't make you 4 million, but it should help you get something. You can even do it while you're waiting for your DF to pop.
Good luck.
if you buy your raw mats from the market yes you will always run at a loss however if you gather the mats your self there are no fees at all just pure profit another way to do it is working it with your FC say your a armorer and there a leather worker they supply your idk aldgoat leather you supply them iron ingot or you could just lvl all crafts tho it takes forever
2.5m with another 700k on the AH, though ive spent alot of my gil/time on getting all crafting jobs to 50 and completely gearing them out.. Between that I'd say i've probably made at least 10m.
people who says they are rich with a crafting class i think are all liars with both my crafting classes i am sitting at 60k and this is with me gathering all my own matts here's why i say this.1 end game crafters at lvl 50 are useless because DL gear is better than what can be crafted 2 cant put materia in dl gear and 3 to craft the end game gear u have to be rich in the first place. oh i forgot the massive amounts of bots on the servers make it impossible to make a decent profit don't believe me go check the market for Coke then go to the npc in revenant and see how much it is there and then see how many you need to craft and tell me if it is worth it
Crafters are liars? Lulz? Dude, i can do easily ~ 1 1/2 mil per day with 2h hours of time spent. Just capped because of only 40 market slots. I will create a new character soon for more slots so more income. Its so damn easy to make gil. And no i am not talkin shit why should i? I spent my gil in crafting gryphenskin set + jewelry + weapon and it was/is a hell of fun.
1M atm, I stayed at 600k for a while when i was selling sanguine and leveling more classes at same time (just lazing around). Had i leveled blacksmith at the same time, i would have had closer to 20m no problem :P Have 1m atm, with GSM 50, LTW 50, WVR 50.
If you are simply buying mats and turning them into equipment, you really have to watch what is selling and adjust what you are making accordingly ('playing the market'). For example... On my server yesterday, I noticed not a single HQ version of the weaver's swallowtail (body) was on the AH. This means that someone who is desperate or unaware that they can probably make it themselves will probably buy it at a higher price than necessary. I promptly used some of my own HQ mats, bought some off the AH, and made two HQ bodies... I kept one and sold the other one, at a hefty profit considering there were NO OTHER HQ on the AH at the time. Don't get greedy with your price -- if you make the price TOO high, people will say, "Oh, I'm not paying THAT much more for it. I'll wait," and you miss your window. It's gotta be realistic but profitable at the same time.
If you are making HQ gear for profit, it is best to sell one or two at a time... This way, you give the illusion that supply is low and therefor people are more willing to pay because the item is 'rare' and 'hard to get' (they don't know better). If there are a lot of the same item actually on the AH (even if they are all from YOUR retainer), you're likely to get undercut and fast by anyone else who puts up the same item. (They will see that the buyer has a lot to choose from and will drive the price down so that they can get their item to sell fast... this hurts everyone, so you want to do your best to prevent this from happening).
When in doubt, it's always best to get all of your own mats (or as many as you can). Buying HQ mats in order to get yourself at an 80%+ HQ chance and then watching a NQ pop out is super disappointing, and a waste of gil. (You barely make even if you sell NQ equipment after buying NQ mats, so buying HQ mats and then making a NQ will almost always be a loss). I'm generally not a gambler, so I like collecting my own mats if I can and making a profit when it makes sense.
For people who HAVE the craft/control, making the two star HQ items is profitable at the moment. Most of the 'important' mats can be bought with tomestones of philosophy, which you can buy from the same NPC you buy DL from. A lot of people without crafts end up making money by farming castrum/praetorium and selling those mats on the AH for crafters to use and turn into more profit.
To answer OP: I don't have a lot of money... mostly because I'm lazy but also because I don't really need it.
10.75m, still too poor for 2 star equipment :(
3m, lvl 50 Leatherworker
