BLM maybe? you're going to have to learn a rotation no matter which dps class you choose but theirs might be the least intimidating to learn. this is just from glancing over their abilities though, i don't claim to play a BLM.
Archer nice
you can move and attack
you can use 3 main skills with it , and mix in a few extras
Venomous Bite
Heavy Shot
Straight Shot
i mix in other as well
For solo content, summoner;
For group content, both bard and black mage are pretty easy to be effective with.
For melee is Dragoon since its a bit easier than the Monk. Dragoon have more buttons but there main combo doesn't require any positions to maximize damage, however their buffs do but one is once every 20 secs and the others are once every 30s. For ranged BRD by far is the easiest you can macro a lot of your proc moves to your main attack and then aside from that all the other BRD moves are situational. From the songs to the silences to bind.
TL:DR.... Go BRD
Archer/Bard by far
Since I cant post a new thread ill ask here. Is there a way to use macros to notify you when your debuffs are falling off? Its nearly impossible to track your debuffs on a target in large fights. It would be nice if you could make a macro that activities when you cast your debuff ability, it would then wait the duration of your spell with a grace period of three seconds or so, then it would whisper you or do something else informing you that the debuff falls off in 3 seconds.
Sadly, no, because the game can only keep track of one /wait command at a time.
I tried doing that with my DoTs, something like:
/ac Bio <t>
/wait 15
/echo BIO OFF IN 3s
/ac "Bio II" <t>
/wait 27
/echo BIO II OFF IN 3s
But using one and then the other cancels the wait/echo part of it.
Well maybe we can hope for a debuff filter being implemented in the not to distant future. I hope its on the list somewhere.
arc/brd is the safest, but I still think blm is easier to play
Bard is the easiest atm, you literally hit like 5 buttons, song when needed. It is not hard to out DPS other jobs in fights like Titan with a well geared bard.
Agree with ARC/BRD.
wow, a lot of people don't know how to play arc/brd o.o well then...
I would say they're all easy to play, since there is no teamwork required in FFXIV like there was in FFXI.
Definitely arc/brd, it's by far the easiest.
define easiest....
mmm.. Here's what I do to play BLM at level 45
There's your standard Thunder(pick your number) > Fire 3> fire.... Ice3 > Thunder/Scathe depending on health of mob> Fire3> fire...etc rotation
You can't macros. Firestarter and thundercloud procs way too randomly and you need to cast Thunder/Fire3 when those proc. Also, sometimes you have to watch your mana or you won't be able to use Ice3 at the end of your combo and that really messes up everything. You can use a ether or convert when that happens, but it's still an unpleasant scenario to be in. Always be on Astral Ice via Transpose if necessary after fight ends so you have full mana on the next one.
You have to watch if a mob is going on your healer too so you can Insta sleep it. Sleep if there's magic damage on Tanks because their magic resist is not so good. Apocatastasis in case there's some elemental AOE that will put your healer in an uncomfortable place (Garuda). If your party is doing well, you can use swift cast on Thunders or Fire 3 for extra damage. Otherwise save it for emergencies. Don't forget to use raging to do max DPS on last leg of boss fights when all hell breaks loose.
Also, after Ice 3 there's a lag dependent chance that you can cast 2 fire spells super quick. Same with Fire 3/ Ice Spells. Oh and finally Scathe on the last tick of heath to max DPS.
I don't have Quelling Strikes or Eye For an Eye, but usually you pull aggro from tank with first few spells, so I would use Quelling Strikes there. Eye For an Eye would be great at reducing damage. Bio, and Lethargy - I seem to forget a lot, but I guess it's useful for keeping Boss damage down. Actually I'm not sure Lethargy actually works on most things you want it to work with.
Manaward and Surecast are very situation. I.E. as a BLM you should never be taking so much damage that you need to tank or in a situation where your cast is interrupted, but it still happens, so those are useful do 1 or 2 actions before you die a painful, dishonest death (or perhaps save you from it XD).
I have not found a use for Freeze.
Can't wait to get Aetherial Manipulation, Manawall, and Flare :D
Bard and Archers. You can never play a bard or archer wrong. You can shoot while running, you have a backstep skill, you have out of gcd skills. Basically you need to be a e year old to fail a bard.
Sure they have proper rotations as well, but messing up with the rotation doesnt affect them much compared to other dps
