When will Hyperion open up for new characters?

I have four friends who want to play and cannot because the incompetence of Square-Enix.

Does anyone, whether a dev or not, know when Hyperion will open up so they can play?

You.. do want their money right, Square-Enix?

In the same boat here, waiting to join some friends on Hyperion. Or even just to get the all-clear that I'll be able to transfer a character there later and be able to play now without fear of losing my progress.

It's inexcusable that SE has not announced anything regarding free server transfers when the service is eventually rolled out. I'm a pretty patient player, but if they decide to make transfers cost money without giving out free ones for those who've lost game time, I'm 100% done with the game.

I'm already not even playing because it just doesn't seem worth the bother if my progress is going to mean nothing in a few weeks. Turns out, the games I'm playing now to keep me occupied are starting to seem like better long-run investments than an expensive subscription MMO. Ball's in your court, SE. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling the same way.

They are rolling out another server upgrade pretty soon, you people act like they are somehow oblivious to the issues at hand. Do you really think they just turned on the servers, said "My work here is done" and left it at that?
Hyperion is the (or pretty damn close to) most populous server, you are damn right I want them to keep it locked if letting everyone who has 3-4 friends on and crash the entire thing. Because guess what, I have friends that want on to but they are just going to have to wait it out like everyone else.

I've got a friend that really wants to make a character on Hyperion as well. =C

I didn't know that Hyperion is one of the more populated servers, though.

At minimum they should allow a first time free world-transfer when they upgrade their servers. If I can't get off the server to play with some of my friends who can't get in, or are even scattered and can't get on, it really dampens on the experience for everyone.

Have a friend been trying to get on Hyperion for almost a week, trying almost every hour. It sucks.

hyperion is really really crowed so i wouldnt be looking to make a chr there anytime soon..

Worlds can get "full", and Hyperion is consistently the busiest. It could be that it will only open for new characters once a significant number of people transfer off of Hyperion or choose not to subscribe.

Even then, allowing new characters may not last long. After the big maintenance where SE increased server capacity 50%, most character creation restrictions were removed. But SE saw so many new characters being created so quickly on many worlds that they had to put restrictions back in place after only a matter of hours.

That. Simple. Doesn't cost them anything to say that, and it's the right thing to do.

I had a thread on the beta forums for 40+ to get on hyperion with me and my fc. So far I have managed 36ish out of about 1k ppl that wanted to come and join me on Hyperion. Am I feeling like SE is aware of this problem? No. New servers does not mean Hyperion gets more space. It means new servers. One possibility might suggest more named worlds but not increasing Hyperion at all. I for one have asked many of my FC members if they would like to move to a less populated world with me and they all agree. The trick is it needs to be free and allow legacy members on it. Otherwise my whole FC might not make it because of so many loved ones, Yes loved ones , husbands , wives. the works that cannot play with each other. Please do not right this issue off. Even if you do not understand please try.

If Hyperion is the "biggest" server then I feel terrible for the other servers. They must be almost empty. Hyperin isn't that big at all.

Same problem my brother want to join the server im on. But he says its full?

At least give some sort of projection time here devs... it literally hasn't been "open" once since launch close. If the server is permanently closed, say so. Are we close to being able to make new chars? Are we closed for good/way over cap? Are we idling at max? Anything...
