Every time I visit a main city ^_^
-
-
lol i dunno which server you're on but i hardly ever see any. i've black listed one, so i guess my server seems to be spared for now.
-
I zoned into Gridania last night and was met by all the crazy spam :/ I black list them, report and move on. It sucks to have to do this, but SE is fighting against it and banning people that do this sort of stuff as fast as they can.
-
Seems to vary by server. I've seen almost nothing of the sort on Excalibur.
-
I see it once i zone in about once or twice a day, then /blist them, and it's clear. It's usually one or two names at a time, and if you do that, you don't see it for that long. Easy.
That said, they really need a right click to report them or block them, it would be a lot better.
-
Dumb question but how do you black list again? Seems to be horrible on my server too.
-
Type /blist.
Self-Explanatory from there.
-
Easily solved with a blacklist.
-
-
Pretty bad on Hyperion as well
-
Hardly get any on Tonberry JP server. There was one in Ul'dah, been reported.
-
I blacklisted and reported two, today. Remember that the report is as important as the blacklist!
-
So far on Gilgamesh there's about one or two a day. This time I think there mighta been three or four.
-
How about a patch to allow right clicking the name and selecting Black list or even better Report for spamming?? Its so bad on Faerie and I can't even scroll back to type out the name in the 2001 quality black list function Square decided to use.
-
As soon as I opened this page I knew it was Siren. I made the grave error of going to Ul'dah's market earlier and I've never seen a screen roll so much, so fast, and it's the one OP is talking about. It was very difficult to even find the name to blacklist.
-
In Leviathan, Ul'dah in particular is plagued by rmt shouts. I can hardly stand going there lol.

Seems to be the most popular spot for RMT shout spam in Diabolos, as well. Somewhat ironic, as Ul'dah is the city of trade and commerce and all that, but mostly just annoying.
-
Hyperion has been getting hit hard recently. I mostly see them in Gridania and Ul'dah. My black list is getting rather long and I've lost track of how many reports I filled out today in the couple of hours I was playing.
-
Ul'dah on Diabolos is terrible. I have missed so much chat from the scrolling gil spammers. I do blacklist them still annoying to deal with especially if I am trying to read fc chat.

Didn't bother censoring, we all have to see it uncensored ingame, after all.
I'm done reporting as well. I alone manually reported about 30 RMTs over the past 3 days, they still don't have a GM on Cerberus hanging out and banning them? Fuck it, then.
-
I didn't see anyone post this, but there is a chat filter, just turn off shout.

That's not a solution, which must be why no one posted it.
-
To get around the speed issue when the chat log is scrolling like crazy, I right click a spammer and choose "send tell", then I edit the command to /blist add "Spammer Name". It spares me having to type out a name like "Gklgadfljk Mdgfslk" or trying to copy paste quickly between scrolls of the chat log.
-
They mentioned implementing chat filters in their September 6th report on RMT issues:
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...33498e43afd6f4
Can't come fast enough. Still need to add Black List and Report to the right-click name options as well.
-
The way I see it, business and common sense is that it's supply and demand, if the lazy useless people with too much money are gonna keep buying off them they will stay , get rid of those people then you get rid of the sellers, they will stay if people are still buying it
-
I already filtered Shout off my chat window but now those RMTs keep sending /tell directly to me. It's like my name is on their potential customer list.
what the hell? because I always dress my character in style so they think I bought gil from RMTs?
-
Pretty sure the Ul'dah area is going to have it the worst on each server, as it quickly becomes a major hub area once people progress far enough in the main story thanks to all the trips to Vesper Bay.
See plenty of RMT advertisements on Coeurl, if they are sparser I just report, but when they spam it left and right, or flood the chat they get blacklisted.
-
It gets worse everyday :(

This is an absolutely terrible solution!!!!
I use Shout to stay in kahoots with other players on my server. Specifically players that I do not know personally.

I am also finished reporting them. I'm tired of doing it. This spam makes my time on Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn significantly less fun than it should be.
-
I've only seen one RMT add on Chocobo lol. Must be worse on NA/EU servers than JP servers.
-
Really not that bad on my server, its also completely non existent when I just blacklist them.

I didn't say it was a solution, but the original poster, said other games have chat filters, I was just pointing out, so does this one.

basically.
haven't seen any on tonberry, at all.
yet.

Gil sellers only target very popular servers. Balmung server is being bombarded by gil sellers these days.
I would be happy if SE gives us a simple option of adding gil sellers to ignore by simply right clicking on their name.
