Amdapor Keep Penalty for quitters

They really need to penalize people that just rage quit dungeons , a penalty of Allagan Tomestones for leaving. You wait in queu for 30-60 mins, to go in the dungeon, then you watch how a sucky healer or people without patience just jump out and leave.

"Speed runs" as they call it turn in to hell runs, such an easy dungeon, and people just make it annoying and a pain in the a** to run.

The girlfriend spend most of the day doing these "speed runs", but with the Duty Finder you tend to run into players who perhaps aren't experienced enough in the dungeon to do a speed run and succeed, especially not in a speed manner - it would have been faster for those groups to have killed everything. It gets to the point that eating the 15 min penalty already in place is actually worth doing, because 15 mins is better than a possible 90 mins that it could take.

Of course, the whole "speed run" idea is something I dislike, and is part of the problem. Not being able to do it, though, would probably help this issue. There'd be a lot of complaints about that happening, naturally.

As a side, this isn't just affecting this dungeon. I've known people in Ifrit Hard groups abandoning the Duty because there wasn't someone who could cast Meteor, despite it not even being necessary to win - just players who are paying attention and can keep on top of their damage.

Frankly, i can be generally pleasant and reasonable and don't rage quit, but there is an exception to this rule...

If i Duty Finder my way into a speed run, i WILL leave, immediately.
I refuse to speed run.
End of story.

I can't lie, but it always seems to be the healer who acts like they are gods lol. Got one today and the tank asked him to put away his pet and the healer is like "Don't tell me how to play my job" and then proceeded to kill himself and wouldn't drop party.

Good. More for me.

Trash is not content. Trash is time filler to space out content. Trash is repetitive and boring, and serves no purpose in ARR except to rack up repair bills. It doesn't drop anything, not even money, so it serves no purpose except to lengthen a dungeon.

If they made trash worth killing, people would kill it.

It isn't, so people don't.

I 2nd this. I also just leave if people try to make the group speed run.

Then get a group together that wants to play that way, not forcing this style on others using DF.

I don't see why ppl are hating against speed runs. But if one wants to do one... they should probably not be using the Duty Finder to do it. That I do see as an issue.

A simple solution to this would be to make more options in the Duty Finder. Maybe allow players to select speed run, and normal run. This way grouping like minded players together.

Because people have a picture in their head of how they think the game is supposed to be played, and anyone who doesn't play it their way is wrong.

We're all guilty of it.

Some people say skipping trash is wrong. I say wasting time to no gain is stupid and pointless, and forcing a group to do so is wrong.

We'll all agree to disagree, and when the scrubs ragequit, not a single tear will be shed, and I'll happily collect my mythology tokens in 20-30 mins tops, versus their hour+ for identical rewards.

This made me really angry today, I get on, need to do Amdapor Keep for the Relic Quest, and first thing I say when I go in is "Hello, my first time here" they explain that they're doing something to skip it, basically say don't heal me, I do what they say see no aggro on me, but soon as tank gets to room everything goes to me and I die, I didn't buff or heal or anything, we give it another try and the tank/dps rage quit. What is wrong with just killing things, it doesn't take long, and when someone tells you they've never been, don't expect them to be able to cheat the system like the people apparently born with and innate knowledge of the game and how to cheat.

The tank takes like 2% durability loss from running and dying. That same durability loss is probably around 10-15% for a normal clear. 6% for the tank is much less than 15%+ for the whole pt. I'm not saying I agree with speed runs (i do them) but there is a reason for the season.

That and there is almost no incentive to kill trash monsters.

Ah, much better, yes I understand the why for the speed runs, but like others say, don't force em on people, I had a super great group after, all friends or FC buddies, that understood I'd not done it before, and I held the bard's tail through it and while it wasn't perfect the bosses went by in a breeze and only a few hiccups with the kite attempts between the 1st and 2nd boss.

I'm with Amas on this one. That said I always adjust to the group, if the rest of the players are inexperienced or simply refuse to speedrun it's not like I'm leaving. However, there is no point in killing adds besides wasting Gil and time

They are fixing this dungeon and wanderers , in a way im glad, i was tired of people quitting.

im glad and worried about what these "changes" if they gave us a reason to kill trash like items gil or something great! but if they simply are forcing us to kill them with no reward that's kinda disappointing I do speed runs personally but in honestly id rather now however it wasn't worth it so im looking forward to seeing what they did

If you are going to implement penalty, it should be across the board, not just AK. Make it harsh, if you leave, you can't queue for 1hr :D

joined a party at wall ,40 mins left , tank says not enough time to finish and quit....another 1 joins and the same...says in party 40 mins ? ....and quit instantly

now ppl quit if u dont have 60 mins and are in the last boss already....

Could have been much worse. By changing this it shows they didn't like speed runs.

At least they didn't penalize people who did them.

When a game is played in a manner unintended by its developer and there is a strong benefit to the players it goes one of two ways.

The Developer blames the players for abusing the system, fixes the issue, then punishes anyone who benefited.

Or the Developer blames themselves for leaving the door open, and fixes the issue and moves on.


Can you imagine the rage if people had their tomes or DL gear taken if the devs felt they were abusing the system?

Ya know I rage quit AK today because the Tank was useless, the DPS weren't doing enough damage either for that matter, now I am not elitist by any margin but I am not guna sit through 2 hours of continuous wiping.

And no I should not be penalised for that.

Funny thing is the tank had nearly full darklight, including accessories and still couldn't keep hate (how this is possible I do not know), It's made me less optimistic for gear checks when they come that's for sure.

I quit two AKs today. With one, the DPS refused to attack the tank's target. I was using almost 4,000 MP every pull on the DPS. The other time, the tank couldn't pick up adds. Something would slip by, he would tunnel, and I would end up having to pick up the slack because DPS believes the good response is to stand there and DPS more!

Yep. Total elitist.
