People can be pretty nice ^^

There is far too much negativity going around these forums lately. So to ease off from that a bit, I present this topic for discussing moments of 'niceness' or fun you have had in the game. Done with hope that the feeling will spread ^^... loooooots of hope.

I'll start with my simple lvl 24 dungeon run with a part formed randomly with the duty finder. The Cat Party!
Yup, all cats ^^;
Started off on a good note with simple greetings. Always a good sign from my experience when people start social. I yelled 'Cat Party' instead of saying 'hi' >_> but it was seriously funny for me :P
For the most part the dungeon went very well from then on. Funny treasure moment with one of the characters involved showing us the way too 'Shinies' (probably spelt that wrong). Yells of treasure, shinies and Pudding followed ^^;
I was the pudding one >_>... it looked tasty for a monster ^^... probably not all that good for me, but sweet food never is.

Finally the boss fight. Probably the best thing I saw coming out of the cutscene which I viewed for the first time was that while 2 of us watched it, the other 2 came to the conclusion that it was our first time and comfortably waited and chatted amongst themselves for us.
*Begins battle music*
Long battle cut short, we died with only needing a single hit to win it ^^;
Yet we regrouped in high spirits (I assume) for round 2, which we won without ever coming close to defeat ^_^ the power of experiencing that first battle paid off for us 2 new ones.

And with all said and done, we waved our goodbyes and went our separate ways, slightly heavier with loot.

Outside that experience I'd like to mention that I also search the ground after every mosh-pit of a fate that arises for the people who fell. Simple, easy, nice ^^


But enough from me for now. I wanna hear from others of your experiences helping, being helped or just enjoying the game with other people.

But, seriously, I have run across a lot of nice people. I've met a lot of nice people in duty finder as well. My favorite was doing lvl 20 ifrit. The party was full of first timers and we kept getting wiped. 3 times, I believe. But, we kept trying and no one copped an attitude. Just a really nice time. It's easy to feel discouraged when running into jerks (I've met my fair share already) but the positive ones stick out the most. My friend list has grown faster in this game than any other.

My first Ak run, I was put in DF with a group pre made (tank and 2 dps) they were all fairly well geared and were wanting to speed run. I told them I was new, and so they were really polite and took the time to explain everything to me. It ended up being a really fun run they were really a great group of peeps.

I played with Rokien the other day, probably one of the nicest person I've ran into. Despite his forum shenanigans

hehehe Rokien plays!? All he ever did was complain about the game...

I'd like to give a shout out to the Hulk on hades. Was an awesome tank and and my favourite dungeon run yet ^.^

He just wanted the game to be more enjoyable for him and probably many others, nothing wrong with that.

I try to be as nice as possible to people, especially if they're new to a fight or dungeon. Hell, during the Cyclops FATE in Coerthas, I tell people in /say about how to avoid his 100 Tonze Swing so no one gets killed and everyone gets the gold medal and minion. I want people to succeed. :c

I don't mind if people don't talk. Maybe he is playing with a joystick or just isn't fast enough typing. As long as they behave and don't mistreat anybody, then I consider it a good group. :)

When I shouted and asked how else can we view in-game time if not relying on the sun that's going around the minimap compass. 1 person shouted a detailed answer, while 2 more people sent tells explaining nicely.

I notice that whenever someone ask for some info, so many people are willing to help. This is how it always is in FFXIV for me. Love it.

Haha, I hope I count as nice. I play a SCH and will be leveling a CNJ/WHM soon and tend to run dungeons a LOT... not really for me, the EXP isn't great, but because it helps the DF pop more for people and I know a lot of the instances really well by now and do what I call 'the Tour Guide'. I teach new people the strats and point out where to get the extra chests when I know them. Not everyone seems to care, but those that take the info to heart and have easy runs, get to continue the story, etc... makes it worth it. I esp love the parties that talk and joke around. I got one group singing the Mulan 'I'll Make A Man Out of You' song once near the end of Brayflox. Loved it.

I've said it before. Rokien is a real nice person. He just has some really bad ideas when it comes to game design.

For some reason, my duty finder PTs are always better when I'm not the only Lalafell. I'm sure that's totally coincidence and not because we're the master race.

Playing with a premade, but we had to pick up our healer. This was for Qarn, we only had two deaths the entire instance, once on the healer from doom and once on me because the lasers lined up in such a way I was doomed.
Chillest party ever, before the last boss we all took a couple minutes to get snacks and such. Sadly our PUG healer was from another server, and I was sad.

I say hello :) with a smile every single dungeon run I go in with DF, I usually try to joke around poking mobs and various other emotes while in dungeons just to make things stay light and fun I always play my roles to the fullest and if ever a wipe occurs I make sure I am one of the first ones to comment and reinforce positivity saying things like 'we'll get 'me this time!' and making sure if a healer or tank apologizes for anything they think they screwed up I say 'no worries :)' or 'we all have bad fights sometimes, don't beat yourself up'. If ever someone responds negatively they usually don't say anything else after I have said something and if they do i make sure to tell them to lighten up because we have all been there before :)

This, today five people helped me when I asked how to blacklist Gil Spammers :P.

Honestly, the community in "Phoenix" is most of the time very quiet, but when you do ask for help, they reply and are very helpful.

I have to say, ever since early access, i've only seen one person say "alt-f4" when someone asks a question. Far more helpful and respectful answers. In many other games, i'd see several for each question. I'm not sure it will last, but it's nice to see.

I love this thread. I'm glad to hear a lot of good Duty Finder stories, too. You always hear about the jerks, but I'd honestly take the weirdness that happened to me recently with a tank that kept running back toward us mages with the mobs, and the several wipes/near-wipes any day, because everyone was nice and we chatted and had fun.
Actually, so far, I've only gotten nice groups so far, and I really hope it stays that way. :)
Another cool thing I've seen, and I try to do myself now, is when Conjurers/White Mages/Arcanists/whatever hang around solo instance battle points, raising people who died inside and have to try again. I once saw someone do this for a couple of hours outside of where that level 15 quest with the gargoyle and whatnot happens.

Yes! Love the attitude! There are indeed nice people to be found in this game. Some of them aren't even cats!

I haven't dungeoned yet, but so far in the world it's been nice. People don't even freak out when I RP my character, over all I've been having a good time on all 5 of my servers from beta to and through launch. :3

I have been lucky so far and haven't run I to any jerks on my runs. Ran into a lot I na players tho but with polite communication we always figured stuff out and ended up finishing whatever run we were doing. One run we wiped about 10 times but still no one ever got rude or have up. We just used a different tactic each time till we finally beat it.

I like it when I'm in a party and everyone's nice and courteous, you can really feel the positive vibes! I get more motivated that way, and I also make sure to acknowledge everyone in the beginning of the dungeon and also the end. ^^

Oh also there was once when I was looking for a monster in the hunting log, a guy messaged me telling me that he's actually at the location, so he added me to his party so it was easy for me to spot the place! So freaking nice! :)

Frankly, I often run into party members who are downright rude and have bad attitude and not cooperating and stuff. I met random people who leap at any chance to offend people. I got someone that picked a fight with me in shouts when I tried to be helpful. Those people really ruin the fun and makes me anticipate meeting horrible players in every map I go. However, soon after meeting the bad ones, the very nice and extremely friendly ones would show up and say something nice, do something nice, or just show kindness to other players. Those things make up for any bad experience I've had with rude people. The friendly, kind, or positive players can make me smile and continue playing feeling happy and forget about the other jerks.

This turned out better then I was hoping ^^ Let the nice guys and girls overwhelm the haters :P

Gotta ask;
Does anyone else see it as an excuse for a race when someone asks for a raise with the map location given? ^^;
I've stopped a quest half way just to see if I could make it halfway across the map to revive them first :P lol
Of Course on the time's I arrive and no-one is in site, I just assume that they were eaten by moogles and it had nothing to do with me being to slow >_>. Totally ignoring any thanks that might of been given to someone else in the chat window ^^;

Sadly less res'ing coming from me for awhile as I work on unlocking my whitemage-y self.
