I may have a solution for 1017 MR.SE

I was tring to get into my world (Ifrit) for hours and the same 1017 we used to had before
its poping up

so why dont u just give us an option or Item to transfer our characters to other world
like EU servers because my friends there had never complain about this error .

and if I could buy this Item plz tell me how ?

We shouldn't have to pay extra to be able to play this game, put us in queue already Mr. SE.

I honestly thought they fixed it already, how many days have passed since they implemented the 'server extension' and yet they are either 1: restricting the number of logins and 2: not really giving us an update on said restrictions. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly be wrong but as of right now, I can't log in my server due to error 1017. Seriously SE?

it seems like the last maintenance that "supposedly" increase the capacity of SE servers is .... still inadequate to cope with the number of players

the capacity has indeed increased, but during peak hours it's still not enough.
I seriously don't mind waiting to login, but the queue system really needs a fix.
Sometimes i could get the queue, most of the time i can't. sadly.

I don't see why the concept eludes people. The line is full.

When you call somewhere and get put on hold, if all holding lines are full, it returns a busy signal...

Pleasant? No. Understandable that the line could be full while over doubling their estimated user base? Yes.

In my opinion the best way to reduce server load would be to add an AFK limit for the time being. A strict one. 10-15 minutes.
They can't make a jerk reaction and double their server capacity only to have the curve of users decline to what will most likely be closer to their estimated population. Not if you want there to be SE tomorrow, anyway. People often forget that SE is a business. There's no sense in tanking the company to make sure that the peak of the curve is taken care of.

They said there will be an AFK kicker, but I think 10 or 15 minutes would be a little too short. I would say 30 mins or one hour is more than fair though.

I'm extremely curious about something.

I know that the servers can take 5000 players at a time.

Taking into account that character creation for certain servers has been stopped due to the fact that the worlds are full, I will assume that there is a maximum number of total accounts available per server.

Let's say for the sake of example that this number is 10,000.

If this is the case, is it not possible to extend the queuing system to cover all of the accounts hosted by the server so that whenever anyone tries to log into the game, they are given a status?

Personally, I'd rather see that I am in queue at position 5,000 and be able to see that figure go down, than be told by the 1017 message that I have to try again when a space is available - something that I will never know, unless I re-attempt to login.

I would rather get in line too. But the server must handle the load of organizing the array(s) of people in a queue. That takes away from their servers resources. The line can only hold so many people without dragging down the actual game play. With a full server, that would serve to REDUCE the server capacity. So it's between having a better realistic chance of getting on despite the hassle of spam logging in, or, getting on in an organized, slower fashion.
