tomes need to change in this game ...

ok so there is only a few ways to get tomes and there is 2 types of tomes, philosophy and mythology, Amdapor keep gives you 80 philosophy tomes and 40 myth tomes it also is the only dungeon at 50 that I know of that drops gear as well, wanderer's palace drops tomes but no gear and I herd is harder than Amdapor keep... which to me seems silly. you also have Castrum Meridianum and praetorium which are 8 man raid no loot part of your story quest at lvl 50 and gives you 100 tomes of phil if you kill the last boss only... this to me is really horrible design id like to see tomes for each boss drop, so for instance if there is 4 bosses in a dungeon the first 3 drop 40 tomes of philosophy and the final boss drops 40 philosophy and 40 mythology, in doing this you award people for defeating them bosses and make people feel it was worth going into the dungeon and not completing it is ok because you are still getting tomes from it.

Please no. Then you'll get people Queuing up, killing the first boss, and leaving all the people who were there for the story quest because it's more efficient to kill the first miniboss over and over. Also, Wanderer's Palace is easier than Amapador and does drop gear.

So you would rather have welfare epics so people could have the top tier gear minutes after hitting 50 then zerg rush through the content?

The idea of pacing you through the level 50 content is nice in my opinion because it forces you to become comfortable with your class

Whats wrong with this post WoW generation that cant seem to grasp that. AS it stands now, you can get 300 tokens a week, a full set of gear will cose around 5000 tokens. Thats 16 weeks.

Thats not difficulty, thats tedium. Thats 16 weeks of Amdapor Keep.

I don't care about reward for each boss or not.

I think that the only part that is bad design is that Amper Keep turn out to be the only good place to get tome. This encourage people to only do one dungeon, and it is very boring.

Please close this thread, pointless and the OP has no idea what he is saying.

Trash in the dungeons should also drop tomes, a couple at best I'm not asking for 50 tomes per mob though that would be nice :P This will add incentive to kill everything and take your time rather than taking a tank-train all the way to the boss arena.

WP is way easier because it's easily pugable even with people who are first timers. AK is not pugable with first timers. And then you have people who leave DF once they get in because the party does not want to speed run or want to speed run. There's also people who quit because the tank said he can't tank golems and boss at first boss (leaving dps and healer to take adds on, where healer gets mad cause he is the guy getting hit). Personally I find that WP can be done with crappy gear but AK simply cannot. Anyway, that's not the point of thread. Yes tomes need to change in this game, so is the drop from primal. Crafting should have great gear (or at least great gear but only the crafter can wear or something.)

It's really hard to get tomes when I have like 2-3 hours of gameplay on weekday. If I am unlucky, I won't be able to get in for like 30min to 2 hours. And DF can take up to an hour. Even if DF gets me in, some ass-ho**s rage quit even before dungeon starts. Currently crafting alchemy for relic wpn since no one sells the item I need. Painful, very painful...

Currently, end game is incredibly boring. It's nothing but speedy tome farming in one instance over....and over. They need more dungeons or to have more ways to get tomes. As it is, it makes me want to poke my eyes out.

It's fine as it is, yes it takes a while to get a set of darklight but I think that is intended.

SE don't want us ploughing through the content and end up with nothing to do.

As someone else mention Wanderer's Palace drops gear and very nice gear too.

I do agree they need more lvl 50 instances but its not bad for a new game IMO.

Wanderer's Palace drops ilvl 55, Amdapor Keep drops ilvl 60. (they could do with 2 more dungeons for this gear level though)

WHo the hell said its difficult, whats wrong with you. Its simply capped so you dont go out of your way to farm the same thing over and over again. Go and do something else.

I don't mind the way the seals are now, what I do think is we need more variety, Add more dungeons that give roughly the same seals....doing the keep for 16 weeks is gonna drive me insane, at least with wow we had a lot of different dungeons to do. >_>

Maybe consider adding tomes to lvl 50 fates, just to break the monotony up, doesn't have to be a lot.

AK barely qualifies for ARR's endgame.

No, that'd be Binding Coil. And, to some extent, HM primal fights.

AK offers an opportunity to upgrade from AF and have something to do when you can't get 8 people together.

wanderer's palace is actually a lower ilevel than amdapor keep and it drops gear and weapons

ok they listened to me and im very happy 20 tomes on each boss and final boss is 40 tomes on phil and 40 myth

Why is it that everyone resorts to outlandish exagerations to prove a point?

Full darklight still requires ~5400 tomestones. OP's suggestion, for instance, only increases the philosophy tomestones from AK by 40. Hardly "minutes"

You don't even need full DL to clear Bahamut Coil 5 lvls.

Problem?

Another thing I can't understand, Bahamut Coil drop Allaghan which is the equivalent to AF2/Relic +1. It's clearly intended for you to be able to clear this without those stuff...

For 2.0 that is the only option, and there is no reason you NEED to get this gear, there will be equivelent ilv gear from coil.

2.1 introduces more options to get the tomestones, and the tomestones are simply a reward so EVERYONE gets something in each run and not just the lucky few who get a drop from the chests.

SE should have left mythology completely off the table to avoid such stupid issues. Mythology tomestones are realy ment fo supplementing no drops in much higher level gear, but start dropping from lower level content (i.e how philosophy start dropping at lv44 or 41 dungeons, but are for lv50 content).

Whut? It has been like that since day 1.

10 for Cthulhu, 20 for Demon Wall, 50 Phil and 40 Myth for whatchamacallit.

The only two instances where all tome dropped only at final boss are the 2 story ones.

I have not gotten to level 50 yet, but the idea of only having one dungeon to run for 16 weeks sounds awful. Is there no other way to obtain gear of this level?

Lvl 41 - Stone Vigil drop Philo Tomestone
Lvl 44 - Dzemael Darkhold drop Philo Tomestone
Lvl 47 - Aurum Vale drop Philo Tomestone
Lvl 50 - Castrum Meridianum/Praetorium/Wander Palace drop Philo Tomestone
Lvl 50 - Amdapor Keep drop both Philo/Myth Tomestone
Primal Hard (Ifrit/Garuda/Titan) drop both Philo/Myth Tomestone

Myth Tomestone is required for AF2, the strongest, bestest, badest thing at the moment. Even Bahamut Coil only drop the equivalent of AF2, however people want easiest/quickest way to cap and skip through tons of stuff so they want AK to provide every single thing in the easiest to attain manner possible.
The intended progression was Aurum Vale (iLvl 52) -> Wander Palace (iLvl 55) -> Amdapor Keep (iLvl 60) -> exchange for DL (iLvl 70) -> Crystal Tower (coming in patch 2.1 - iLvl 85) -> Bahamut Coil (iLvl 90). However, the whiners want AK to provide easy iLvl 70 and iLvl 90 (currently capped 300 per week) so they don't have to move an inch from their beloved AK.

Then they will unsub the game because there is nothing else to do.

the primals hard mode only drop 10 tomes of phil and 4 myth is not that great when amdapor keep drops 20 phil for the first 2 bosses and 40 phil and 40 myth for the last boss
