Noticed that! Was going to post something, but wasn't sure if I was going crazy.

I'm enjoying this lore quite a bit, but some actual info would be appreciated as well. Hopefully tonight!

I lol'd at her using the 2 legendary weapons of the FF series, and even more lol is how Raubahn is using the Blue Mage Mythic weapon from XI.

Looks like they are moving in a good direction with this.

things are getting interesting.

I don't need to use insert link, I can just copy and paste. I have no idea why it doesn't work for some people.

So is Raubahn a Blue Mage like in XI, or is this just fanservice and he is a warrior?

Perhaps he's a Gladiator with Blue magic traits? Wouldn't be surprising seeing as he's been in battles for a long time, so he could have picked up an enemy skill here and there.

So they took Raubahn's name from Raubahn leader of the immortal lions in XI. They also made XIV Raubahn leader of "The Immortal Flames" He's in the Immortals again. And now he gets the Bluemage Mythic weapon Tizona... I LOVE THIS!!! :D

They keep making Merlwyb more and more awesome. I just keep falling more and more in love with her.

Sadly I don't see Bluemage stemming out from this :( But I would love to be wrong haha

They are also teasing "western continent" (which it seems is already discovered by Limsa) and the "northern nations beyond bloodbrine sea" who also seem to be more of the hostile sort.

We really seem to be in war with everyone and everything. At least in the lore.

I'm slightly confused, the page isn't any different from what it was days ago. I don't notice anything added. D: I even read it through a few times.

Edit: nevermind, just keep refreshing the page if this is the case for you as well. I guess it's slow updating for some people. :D

Nice. I hope they'll add also their respective 'homes' in game.. like a palace, a headquarter or something like that.

Everything in FF or FFXI is based on history/mythology of some kind, but it's pretty clear they're referencing XI.

Nice find. Maybe they're hinting that the leaders of the companies will appear after the patch today?

True. The references to FFXI is clear. I do not question that.

What I would question is drawing a conclusion that Raubahn, or the Immortal Flames have anything to do with Blue Mages in FFXIV. That would be similar to drawing the conclusion that Kan-E-Senna is a Summoner because she wields Claustrum.

It's simply too early to draw such conclusions.

I still don't know if the chocobos in that main picture make me drool with excitement or tremble in fury. Seems like a teaser and a massive "wouldn't you like to march into battle like that huh" F.U. at the same time.

They named their weapons.

That could be a hint that they were finalizing their lore before they released them in game. Because if the weapons they carry are special and only they have them and they look awesome Se doesn't want to have to tell players "You can't have them they are NPC only" over and over again.

I wouldn't read too much into names and such. Remember than this kind of things change quite a lot between different chapters of the series. It's not at all a given that a weapon with the same name will be associated to the same class.

If your referring to my posts I didn't say bluemage was going to happen because of all of the similarities. I'm just excited to see all of the throwbacks to XI :)

I'm German, and I can tell you they're not of German origin. BUT you're on the right track. They sound more harsh, almost Viking-like. I'd say more Nordic, like Scandinavian or Norwegian.

Germanic isn't the same as German. It's a language branch:

Merlwyb with rng/cor weapons, Kan E with Blm/smn weapon, Raubahn with blu weapon, love the FFXI easter eggs.
